Hi, my name is Jon... waytogo

I get my red 2009 696 tomorrow at some point.  Bought it used, but it is in great shape.  Totally stock, but that is what I was looking for...a good platform to work from.  I have a lot of experience with working on european car projects, Audi, VW, MINI...and now, I really want to make this bike have my own style.  I used to ride a YZF600R as well as a Road Star 1600 Vtwin.  Both great bikes, but sold them to get into the track car scene.

I have not ridden in about 8 years, so I am taking a Motorcycle Safety course again to refresh my basic skills, then ride for a month or so, and take the advanced course.

I am so excited, I wish it was Friday morning already so I could have the bike.

I have already been reading things on this forum, some great information, and I already have ideas from you all.  Thanks so much!!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Jon

The refresher MSF course is a great idea. waytogo

When you get a chance, also stop in and check out your local board, MHM.

Have fun tomorrow, looking forward to your pictures and updates! Grin [moto]

BBC, congrats on your new monster.  Fortunately, missed the hail in my neck of the woods, but it pretty much rained all day, and more expected for Sunday.

Thanks.  I ended up at Fay Myers... Erico was out of 09's last week.

Why do you have a Mini hood on the wall?  Is it a spare or just decor?

Mine is a used 09, had 1002 miles on it when I got it, and as you can see, super clean.  Grin

The MINI hood is decor, I had 2 MINIs, down to one now, and that hood has working headlights that turn on when the garage door opens, and then shut off when the timer goes off waytogo.

lame photo editing, but was taking some "stock" pics for the before aspect of my modification process.  Have a few things on order, awaiting delivery to the process can begin  popcorn
