I bought a second hand Ducati Monster 900 a couple of weeks a go. I knew some minor things needed fixing, among which the indicator switch.

Since I couldn't find an earlier post on a problem like this, I figured I might give others a hand :-)

The indicator switch was only working for the right hand side indicator, for the other side it would only work every now and then, or by moving/pressing the switch in a very funny way.

In my case this was caused by a loose screw inside the switch. To repair it:
 - Open the switch (2 screws, cross-heads)
 - Remove the metal plate on the lower part (1 screw, smaller cross-head)
 - Fasten the screw through the switch lever (1 screw, cross-head), you might want to throw in a bit of silicon spray to smoothen things
 - Finally, put everything back together
