Title: Any experience with ASV C/5 levers?
Post by: Mad Duc on August 26, 2008, 05:58:18 PM
I can get a set at a good discount. Are they worth it or are they crap?  ???

No FHE, but I've been eyeballing those for my new-to-me 695.  Spec wise they seem more than a match for the CRG, and I like the look of the ASV better...

I have them, and they are great.  Easy install, and advertising for ASV aside, i like the obvious workmanship & thought that went into them.

The only issue I had is that I had to bleed the clutch after install, as i managed to get some air in, likely when putting in the new plunger.

My tip for getting new plunger in is take some needlenose pliers, then insert into rubber grommet thing, then spread apart, opening hole, then insert new plunger...

Cool, thanks for the advice.  As for the adjusters - they seam easy to use but do they stay at your settings or is a slight bump enough to knock them off? It looks like a wheel thing, are there position markings? I've seen some photos but never an up close one that I can really see what is on that wheel.

The adjusters are easy and yes, it is a "wheel thing", but not so easy that they will move on their own.  They do have markings/notches all the way around, but I don't pay much attention, just move the wheel until the lever is the distance out I want...  easy to do on the fly as well.

and FYI, the notches that you see on the wheel have further nubs in them, and each incremental turn, will have a *slight* click as lever takes that position... I didn't explain that well, but hopefully you get the idea...

just buy 'em and see for yourself!  [beer]

The Kawi I rode at CA SBK school had the ASV.  They worked great!!

I had the CRG on my Monster and they worked well also.

I think I'm going to end up going with the ASV for my 749.  So guess which one's I liked better.  [cheeky]
