Title: Track Training / Coaching Day.
Post by: tricolore on August 26, 2008, 07:15:12 PM
My first track day is looming, a little apprehensive about it, or is that my body preparing for the adrenaline rush? Not sure, but I was thinking of booking in for a training/coaching day. As its short notice most places are either booked out or there is no dates booked. Found this place, http://rrpa.com.au/ (http://rrpa.com.au/) it is good timing but a few concerns.
1. Innagural day (10th Sept), will there be teething problems with their systems and the program etc?
2. Wakefield Park, 7.30 am, thats a 4.30am start  [roll]
3. Not familiar with the track as a bike circuit, anyone with experience.
4. Is it all necessary?
5. Anyone else interested?

I thought that was Anthony, Alex's older brother?

I shake my head at situations like that, all that frickin talent - just thrown away. Whilst the majority of us will be nothing but mediocre at everything we do for our entire lives.

Pity, I would love to know how to ride off my nut.

there's sure to be teething problems, but don't let that put you off, if it turns out to be a small group you should get extra attention and more track time. is it necessary? what the additional training? oh yes!!! it's not only good for sharpening up skills and breaking bad habits, it's a hoot! just take care after lunch, especially with an early start, it's easy to fall into dozy mode and make a mistake, especially after the adrenalin filled morning. if they're really up to scratch they'll check your bike over and reccomend little things like chain tension and tyre pressures too.

My japanese is minimal (i.e. none).
It should translate as "Back on topic. I remember wakefield park to be very bumpy. Probably from truck racing."
Those internet translators covert bumpy to small bulging [laugh]

Steve,

Don't be too nervous about being on track you can take as easy as you want, training before is good but not essential.
As for Wakefield, it is very bumpy and being on the side of a hill 1/3 of the track goes down which for first timers could be a bit hairy.....
I am sure his school would be great, but you are right a 4:30am start would be a bit of a nightmare.
