Title: Adjustable Rearsets for 749/999--FHE
Post by: DesmoDiva on August 27, 2008, 10:16:35 AM
Rogue and I are looking to put rearsets on our SBKs.

I know the different options out there, I'm looking for first hand recommendations.  I need ones with a good amount of adjustability (specifically higher and more forward than stock) so my knee is actually on the tank and not the frame rail below it.   :-\

So far I like the Rizoma's and the CRG's the best.  But the CRG's are pretty bulky looking.

Let know what you think/are using on you SBK?

I'm using the Acculign's on our 999R project bike:

I tried several diiferent ones on this bike and the 999S that I had before. I like the longer footpeg of the Acculign.
It sits back further and clears the 60mm exhaust system.

I might have to look at getting a set of those from you Martin.  I've got some ssr billet ones, but they don't clear the LV 7171 system worth a darn, no room to mount a heel guard, etc.  The ones I have would work fine with a normal sized exhaust, just not the one I've got.

We also have a custom made CF "corse" heel guard designed to mount under the rear sets. The CF heel guards pictured on the 999R are 748-998 CF Corse heelguards that we modified to fit.
The new CF heelguard that was just made is basically the same shape but a little bigger and curves away from the pipes better.

I have Sato rearsets on the 1098 and they are great.  I have them up and forward from stock.

Update....

We decided on the Gilles Tooling adj. rearsets.  Our dealer is going to get them in for us to check out.

I'll post picts and review as soon as we get them on, which may not be till next spring.   [bang]

Careful with those little bolt heads--they strip out real easy on the Gilles.

Thanks for the heads up.   [thumbsup]

Sounds like I shouldn't let B anywhere near them.  He has a tendancy to strip heads.   [bang]

I´m using SSR (Sling Shot Racing) rearsets I picked up on eBay for $230 USD, they are quite nice and are adjustable on an eccentric adjuster.

They´re just grippy enough, unlike the ones that came on my HP2 Sport.. those were over grippy.
