Well, I finally paid off my Termi/DPEcu/Airfilter/open airbox Kit and my dealer fitted them late yesterday for me to collect this morning, He keeps the bike overnight to do a cold morning start to ensure the bike is running happy with the new system.

Well this morning I rock up at 10 to pick up my S2R 800, Bad news, the new DP ECU is rooted, it can't detect the air pressure sensor behind the headlight, the boys replaced the sensor thinking that may cure it, but still no joy, The orange light of death on the dash, OEM ECU can see it and detect it doing it's thing, so it is the new DP Ecu for sure.

So they refitted my OEM ECU and plugged in the DDS and programmed it as much as they could to make it run with the new filter and pipes, considering the OEM ECU does not like running with the Termi's and Airfilter, they have made it run surprisingly well, it only has a tiny amount of popping when you close the throttle (And I mean tiny, you can barely notice it) and it has a little more power.

So even without the DP ECU it still sounds Far King Awesome!!!   
It's going to take a little while to get used to that amount of induction noise it has, but I will say i am very happy with the out come, The guys at Pitstop in Cairns worked for about 4 hours to make sure it was going to run right with the OEM ECU (Thanks Guys  [thumbsup] )

And after all that, NFI (Ducati Importers for Australia) don't have the ECU in stock, it'll have to come from Italy.
Hopefully they can rip the ECU out of another kit they have on the shelf.

But so far, very happy with the result!  ;D

i did a termi kitted s2r when they came out (retaining the cat) and the std ecu didn't seem that much leaner.  certainly not like the 800m.  i wrote a report on it if you are interested - http://www.moto-one.com.au/performance/s2rmonster.html

Hey noticed you have the Monstrack mirrors. Are they the long ones????

I have the mediums and love them but need to move my left elbow about an inch to see directly behind me. How are yours?????

how are the forks going?

The Mirrors are whatever length Monsterparts sells, I didn't even know there where different length's  :-[
But overall very happy, I hated the OEM mirrors, I was so happy that day when the bird flew out and crashed into my right mirror and broke it (Bird flew off) YAY! get to buy some decent mirrors!

The front end is now my main focus, First and foremost a new tyre, while there putting on the new tyre in the next couple of weeks the front forks will get resprung and new oil.

Then
Replace brakes with DP Gold upgrade kit (320mm Discs/ 4 pot calipers/pads/master/lines) already have this on layby at a very good price.

And then, dare I say it, I will be pretty much where I want the bike to be.

I'll do some minor upgrades like pee cup style masters, but only when the coffins look pretty ratty.
Maybe replace the CA LED tail light with the better quality Vizi tech tail light.
If I get really motivated I might relocate the oil cooler hose from the right hand side to the left hand side of the engine, but I will have to be really bored.
If I can find a SSS pretty cheap (Read: Very cheap), I may buy it and have it powder coated and then sell the old one.
But these items are not really on the list of things to be done, just "maybe one day" Items.

Never, there is always something to do. No matter how big or small.

being a numbers man I like to break down the project into years, that way I can get the feeling of completion but also know that next February (valentines day actually) is year two, which brings a whole new level of mods to play with!

make sure you give us all a ride report after the re-spring and oil - that will be very interesting - all the 800 boys will be reading that!

I agree about the Vizi-tech rear - sounds like a very good bit of kit for those of us that worry about the complete lack of concentration on the average driver who is approaching our beautiful rear ends.

Matty, your so right - I found some black anodised bolts for the headlight bracket/assembly - whoa, put them on the list!

I made contact with Teknik and things were all ready to go, a week later I tried to make contact to confirm final details, address and so forth, heard nothing back after sending a few emails, I rang and left messages with no response, I finally got hold of the guy I had been dealing with and he suddenly seemed very distant and vague while I was dealing with him over the phone.

I suddenly felt like I was getting the "Were not interested" vibe, It went from them sounding all keen and ready to go, to getting the cold shoulder.

I decided to just go the spring and oil route, I was worried about sending my forks 4000 km's each way and if they were not very interested, would the job be done right and to what we discussed? or would they throw it in the to hard basket and do a quick half job and send them back to me.
If I lived in Sydney I would have got it done, but with the sort of distance involved, I chickened out.
(Biggest pussy of the year award goes to........ME!!  ;D )

I figured the risk of having to send them back and forth, back and forth was to high, this bike is my daily transport and with nearly 10000km's in 9 months of ownership, I could not afford for the bike to be off the road all the time while I try to get forks sorted out.

I don't doubt Teknik is a great company, and they do excellent work, maybe I just got them on a bad day.

So where did you get the wheel stripes from they do look great?  Might be another thing for my ride....

Like the other guys who have posted I think you will find more to modify on the bike....just need some time to think of things...

Very easy to fit, plenty of spare strips in case you make a mistake, did both wheels in about an hour.
Everyone at work today loved the wheel strips, they didn't notice the exhaust, but they noticed those wheels stickers.
