I saw some cops tonight.

At bike night.

They were bike cops.

One of them told me to put my visor down.  Even though we were going 5mph looking for parking, and it was hot.

This is the same guy that got me at 60 in a 25 a couple years ago.

He be my nemesis ;D

Your State has a law regarding visors?

Cool, you have a nemesis? I don't have one yet. I wish I had a nemesis...  :'(

You have to have either some sort of eye protection or the visor has to be down enough to cover them.

Good thing he didn't scope my inspection sticker that expired in 2006 :D

Most states it's eye protection, helmet visor, or full windshield...

At first I thought hbliam was the one that posted that and I was just about to post "tell me to put my visor down when it doesn't make any difference just to be a *insert bad word here* and you'll get one"  [laugh][laugh][laugh]

windshield alone won't cut it here.

However, I am surprised at how often I go by cops with my visor up and they don't say a word.  If im on the road I leave it down, but sometimes in town in slower traffic I'll open it to let air in.

Apparantly 17 States require no eye protection visor, or windshield. Including CA. I can't imagine riding without something. I've been NAILED by some bugs at speed.

....and even less states require ANY protection when it comes to off road!!!  :o   :o   :o

THATS insane....you dont need a helmet OR eyer protedtion if you are jumping off road but as soon as you set your wheels on asphalt you better watch out for those bugs!!  ;D ;D

Try and get health insurance to cover an off-road mishap. :-\

Unless it's flat out night time, I always have sunglasses under my helmet and routinely ride with the visor up unless I'm really getting on it...

They don't care cause you'll likely only cause self injury. Get something in your eye while on the freeway though...

You're doing better than I am...  Picked the bike up in '03 with a good inspections sticker.  Also that last one it's had.  Most of it is gone from me having the forks off anyway ~

Personally I can't understand why you wouldn't have some sort of eye protection. Heck- gloves should be required.  I've been whacked in the hand a couple of times with gloves on and yelled "SONUVABEECH!" inside my helmet.  Can't imagine a hit to the face.
