I've had a couple of go-rounds with them in the past. I'm having backaches right now that fade in and out, just like when I had the stone issues in the past.  I havent gotten to the "fall on the floor and cry" stage with this batch yet...... so I'm hoping it's just a back ache.

fingers crossed.

Ive been tested for a couple off different things that may be causing them, with no luck. So far, I have yet to catch one for them to check out.

I've had one about 2 years ago and since I didn't know what it was, even though I have a pretty high tolerance for pain I thought I was going to die.

Now when I think I might be getting one I have a patented remedy I think you'll like:  Drink one beer of choice, fast.  Fill the empty bottle with water, and down that fast also.  Repeat that about 4-6 times.   [drink]

After a couple pees, no more pain.   :)

P.S. Worst fear: Shaking one of the little spikey bastards loose during a long ride out of town.  Word of warning, don't go looking up google images of kidney stones. :o

My father has had a lot of kidney stones.  He would have to ( believe it or not take a strainer with him where ever he went.)  I just can not imagine the pain. :'(   Hang in there BP.  Lets hope it's just back pain.  Take it easy

If you go see a doc Joel, ask for a strainer (you really shouldn't have to ask).

If I remember correctly we had a nifty procedure in the OR where we could zap those puppies. Maybe it was gallstones tho.... :-\

Some urologists will try ultrasound, but it's hit or miss. Usually only used when the stones are too large to pass through the ureters...

Pretty fackin' sweet science behind it, tho. Generate sound waves at one focal point of an ellipse, pulverize kidney stones at the other.

according to Kaiser, they have to know the make up of the stone prior, to being able to do that.... and or, wait until the stone becomes more of an issue than just being a painfull thing. I was told to monitor my temp, because if my temp rises, thats a sign of infection, and if thats the case, they go in..... until then, it's just wait for it/them to pass.

You know what, haven't had any issues since I started riding all the time.  My first and only one so far was right after I got my bike, about 2 years ago.  Now I make sure to alternate hitting the ton in 5th gear, and hard accelration from about 15 MPH in 3rd gear at least a couple times each time I ride, you know, just to keep things a little shook up.  Doctor prescribed... [coffee] [leo] ;D
