Title: Do I need to adjust ECU with slip ons?
Post by: NYCmonster on September 02, 2008, 06:38:54 PM
Hi, just bought a new to me 2006 Monster 620. Looking at putting on slips ons. DO I need to get the ECU adjusted/remapped or something. Sorry, new to Ducati. My previous bikes did not need carbs or FI system adjusted with just slip on as the only upgrade. I know you definitely would need adjustment with high flow intake and/or full system exhaust.

Thanks,

what slip ons are you looking at?
i dont think you will need to adjust for just the slip ons.
in any event, you  are probably looking at a PCIII if you want to run a different map.

Arrow CF high mount. Exhaust, even for slip ons are so freaking expensive for Ducs.  :o

I don't think the stock ECU is programmable

No you don't need to adjust ECU if you only add slip-ons as long as you don't touch the air box.  The US models generally come lean due to emissions standards so whether you have slip ons or not you should call the dealer and find out if your fuel/air mixture can be adjusted beyond idle.  If it is adjustable then take it in and have them richen it up a bit.  Shouldn't cost more than an hour of labor but if you don't do it don't worry because with slip ons it not necessary but ideal.  Really, whether or not you have slip-ons you should still do this..

Thanks. Maybe I will bring it in some other time. Already spent too much money on it.
