Title: will this work on a 696? Post by: mrplease on September 02, 2008, 07:59:33 PM will the carbon fiber heat shields for the silencers work with the termignoni carbon slip on exausts?
i've had a couple dealers say the shields will only work with the stock exaust because the carbon fiber ones don't have the mounting holes. but i've seen plenty pictures of the carbon exausts with the heat shields. so please someone who has the termignoni carbon exaust please clear this up... You can put CF cans on your bike, go for a ride, stop, take your gloves off and touch the CF cans and it will be mildly warm. Do that on stock cans and prepare to get 3rd degree burns. Yes the CF cans can use the CF shields. you can touch the CF, but you can't touch the metal in front of the can or the pipes.

We've sold quite a few kits with the termi exhaust silencer protectors + exhaust gard. We've got them in stock if you need 'em.

Wife hasn't complained yet about being roasted. I've been thinking of cutting off the heat shield mounts on the termis. Has anyone done this yet?
