Not yet.  I don't anticipate he will either unless Suzuki can pull a rabbit out of their ass.  And it would have to be a pretty special rabbit.

personally..... I like having my crank pulled, but.....

I assume all three bikes were torn down after both Sat and Sun wins, and nothing was mentioned about those bike motors being altered.  With or without a stock crank, the bikes kick ass. I say....give the guy his wins back.

Just cause you can win without cheating doesn't negate the fact that you DID cheat.  Don't wanna get DQ'd, don't cheat.  Simple as that.

have they showed pics of the crank ...... Freddy, kept using the word, visually, but never said what the exact issue was.

if....it was a cheat..... Suzuki was f'n stupid, see'n how fast the bikes were/are with the right parts in it.

and..... the way AMA went about it seams a lil odd. Matt wins, they strip it down, find a problem, but dont check the #2 and #3 bikes  :-\

exact details are in the other thread.

i think that is good evidence that it wasn't a performance enhancement.

yeah, they (ama/dmg) realized that mid-last-week.

i wouldn't be surpised if they get a heavy fine for a non-performance enhancing equipment violation, but mat gets to keep his wins.

if not, and this is a really stupid reason for it, it'll make laguna kinda pointless (and it's already a ghost town spectator-wise).

I don't necessarily agree with this. Performance isn't just lap times, it's also durability and other factors.  Maybe they have to replace these stock cranks after every session now.  Or maybe they have to pull the rev ceiling down a tiny bit, could be lots of things to be gained besides just lap times.

mebbe i should've said "doesn't affect laptimes..."

ben spanked mat's ass at lap-record pace in race 2, and would've done the same in race 1 if he either hadn't had his start issue, or if they'd properly handled the start by aborting the start when he put his hand up.

either way, it's a make the beast with two backsed up situation for the "new regime." they can effectively screw SCRAMP by making the laguna round a pointless race, or they can deem it a minor equipment violation and still have a show.

sadly, a "save the show at all costs" line of thinking is what the old regime was known for.

Yeah, wth!!  And then they penalize the guy for their mistake.  Dumb.  They should have just waived the box violation since he gained no advantage and had a horrible start because he raised his hand.
