A large CAM contingent left yesterday and today was day one of the two-day camp for me. VIR North Course.
Last year on my bike I ran a bunch of 2.03s in a row and then a 1.59
I know where I was so slow and thought I could improve quite a lot...maybe (hope) have a 4 as the second number... ;D

On their zx6 (fun bike) I know I'm running a gear higher than I should everywhere because I am not used to the high redline...but I am sl o o o o o o o w
my last session today I ran four laps of 2.07 (2.07.98 2.07.98 2.07.92 2.07.37)
For the day there's a stray 2.05, a 2.01, and a fluke 1.56 that I thik is an error because it's surrounded by 2.09s
At least I'm consistent (at the end of the day).. but I have changed my wish for a 4 after the decimal point to just a 1 in front of it.

when I was doing level 1&2 at Barber...I was learning their bike, their programming of method, and a new track...so I was all fugged up...so I completely understand...if it weren't for the timing with Indy and so forth, I would have signed up to do Level 3&4 out there this week also, but with my own bike, since I know the track and my bike, all I'd have to do is work on their programming and it would have been a better all around experience....I just spent too much time trying to deliniate my problems based on whether it was their drill, or their bike, or the track in where my deficits were...otherwise I had a great time at a beautiful facility and don't regret the experience one bit.

Yeah, I wish I signed up earlier so I could be down there with the CAMers.
Day two got better. lots of 2.03s, the occassional 2.01, and two 1.58s at the end of the day.
It was great having only nine riders out there on the track and the rest being coaches. Most sessions I didn't see anyone else. We were all about the same speed except for one guy so just with the 15 seconds or so between heading out from the pit lane it meant zero traffic. The guy running low 140s would come by every once in a while ;D, but I wouldn't see him very long.
It wasn't quite one-on-one as advertised, but that made no difference. I had one coach with one other guy. We each got more than enough time with him and never got rushed. In fact we'd allways end up bullshitting in the spare time. And he was available all day so we'd think of something and go find him, and we'd go over stuff for as long as we wanted. So originally I was unhapy but it turned out to truly be a non-issue.
7 sessions per day. usually 7 laps per session (one session per day you lose some lap time to ride the camera bike...so with the bike switch that one is usually four laps).
The food was great. I think the two-day camp was worth it for me.
Nice to see you Chris. Maybe next year we can all get in together. One thing you might want to consider. Since you are only going to the track once a year, you are having to shake cobwebs off each time. Hit a track day here and there and you might be surprised how much speed you pick up next year. It seems to have helped me and some others I think.

Yeah...It's definately time to do both MAD sessions each year and maybe one CSS school every other...or something.

NEBSA is a cheap way to get more track time... Try doing one a month. It'll keep you sharp.

I agree completely. New Jersey Motorsports Park and Summit Point are both only about 2 hours or less from you.
