Title: Dogs At LAX Post by: SKOM on September 04, 2008, 02:08:56 PM I'm looking for some help from the locals here.
In a couple weeks we will be in LA on our way to Australia. We will have our 2 dogs with us. Are there any good parks around LAX that allow dogs? They will be spending a day and a half there until their flight out. I managed to find a hotel that allows dogs at least. Any suggestions/tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks [thumbsup] Title: Re: Dogs At LAX Post by: Speeddog on September 04, 2008, 02:12:24 PM No FHE, but there are 3 listed here:

Some of the locals may be able to be persuaded to have a beer with ya while you're here. ;) Title: Re: Dogs At LAX Post by: madmatt on September 04, 2008, 02:19:10 PM The Westminster Dog Park in Venice (listed on Speeddogs link) can be a bit rough - tough owners, tough dogs. Seldom am I there without witnessing a dogfight. YMMV.
There's a new(ish) dog park by the Santa Monica Airport is awesome - clean (as dog parks go), nice dogs, nice people, great layout. That said, your pets are required to have SM approved dog tags or risk a ticket. That said, I don't have the tags and have never had an issue. Lastly, there's a HUGE dog park in Brentwood on Barrington. It's like the mother of all westside dog parks. So big, that it's easy to lose sight of a dog, especially if you're watching two. Too big for my taste. But great people watching. Have fun. Title: Re: Dogs At LAX Post by: SKOM on September 04, 2008, 02:32:05 PM Perfect!
You guys sure are helpful. Speeddog wins a beer [drink] Only you will have to meet me somewhere near LAX. And somewhere that I can keep the dogs close by. I'm thinking patio. If I can persuade anyone else to have a beer with me let me know. Thanks again guys [thumbsup] Title: Re: Dogs At LAX Post by: Gus Duc on September 04, 2008, 02:40:26 PM Not too sure where you're staying but we're dog friendly here at Hilton LAX [thumbsup]

It's less than 5 miles from LAX. If you have a chance, take the dogs on a hike at Runyon Canyon. It's an off leash hiking trail in Hollywood.
Title: Re: Dogs At LAX Post by: red baron on September 07, 2008, 10:29:40 AM There's also a really large dog park at the base of the Hollywood sign.
Take Lake Hollywood drive till it ends an make a right onto canyon lake drive. Great views of downtown and the Hollywood Hills. |
