Title: New Bars...and mirrors and levers
Post by: bdfinally on September 04, 2008, 03:51:52 PM
Installed some new black Renthal High Street bars this evening. Ever since I put the Sargeant seat on i've felt just a bit funny, since it raised me about an inch. These are about inch higher and have more sweep back, but narrower by 1 1/2 inches. Double wall construction which they claim will cut some buzziness from the bar too. The CRG's don't need the half barrel adaptors, only the wedges. With the Pazzos I might be getting close to too much black around this part of the bike...what do you think?

Thanks man, what hours are you working now?

Funny the other day I was walking up the "Lift" to get a cup o joe and spied a red M750 sitting in a parking lot at Grace and Adams, any idea whose it is?

I'll take a few more in the morning, sunset caught me just as I was finishing up.

I did a bit of shopping around and found these for about $70 to my door.

Most happi with price.  ARE they higher, even slightest, than stock and swept back more perhaps?  If so, I am sold too lol  Look forward to pix when u can and what you feel is difference between these and stock.  THANK YOU!!!

What J said!  :)  I sat on a Sport Classic, and the sitting position was PERFECT for me.  However the dated *dad* era wasn't.  [roll]

What you installed sounds PERFECT for what I'm looking for.  Where can one purchase them, and do I need to get risers, and or a new triple clamp?  Does the linkage have enough room to bolt on, or do you have to lengthen anything? (clutch/brake levers)

Thank you again!!!

You've just perfectly enunciated the reason I'll never buy a retro. [thumbsup]

OP, yep more pics please. Your bike looks interesting.

here you go. My lines and cable might have a bit more, but then you're looking at routing some stuff to go any higher.

Thanks, they're not quite as dark as I'd like, but they work.

My next purchase is going to be a set of black Spiegler SS brake & clutch lines w/blue fittings ;D

Really like the way the rockers were painted on the tank...very artistic indeed.

Hubbi wants to put his Speed Triple stock bars on my 09 696-thinks it'll give me lil more rise and sweep back I "need" for comfort...wondering if this will work with cables etc. But he REALLY prefers to do dirtbike bars or Renthals, like urs maybe.....
Oh n tank paint is nice on urs too! U said you bought it that way???

yeah back in 1999-2002 Ducati Performance offered about 6 different airbrush "suites" ie tanks, side panels, front fenders. Mostly for carbed bikes, but I think they still offer a Ducati Corse edition. Mine was already on it when I bought it used...had every bit of 212 miles on it then.

This is it...I SWEAR, no more tinkering with this part [laugh]. I took it to work this morning and engraved a logo into it, then hit it with a coat of clear satin.
