I'm tired of looking at the udder, and want it to smooth out around 4k rpm.



What else should I expect?

There have been, in the past, issues with some quality on the termi s2r1000 kits.   Look it over for welds and make sure there are no spots that might leak.   The older ones blocked the drain plug so the midpipe had to be pulled to do an oil change.   I think that was fixed but I am not sure so that may or may not still be an issue (if it matters to you).

All Termignonis are a bit of a bear to fit (by second hand info only I have not fit any myself...I pay people to do it, although I have redone my RS from the midpipe back a few times to straighten it out).  patience and beer are your friend.  If dealer installed, a $20 and a sixpack of the tech's favorite are cheap insurance for good work.

06...PCIII has worked on many 06's thus far. You mgiht want to try. I have a S4R PCIII that doenst 100% plug in, but i am trying to maek it work, i R has an 06 as wells!!!!!!!!!
 

I'm really not interested in "playing " with something to get it to work.

It's my understanding that the DP system and computer is all that works "right," I just want the spotty injection issues fixed, a bit more sound and get rid of the udder. I also plan on keeping the airbox lid on.

Then youll probably still have some running issues. DPECU full kit is designed for airbox open. (big difference in AFR if you leave it closed, especially since the exahust is now much more free flowing, its gonna need more air with the DP's map.

'Tis true. It doesn't really matter though, the full system comes with the high performance air filter and a new lid, so you might as well install the whole thing.

Yo Trouble,

You should expect to install it & then head to the dyno...... from all the research I've done & posts on TOB some guys end up with a good setup & others are still lean..... Ivan's was about 15/1 with the DP ECU & Zards with an open lid. 

If you're lucky yours will be closer to 13/1 & you'll be done...... if not..sky's the limit ;D

As to the lid, Brad Black says it makes quite a difference in power & throttle response but the diff in A/F ratios is only about half a point or so.  I thought I wouldn't like the open lid but I was wrong.......... bike sounds deeper, not louder, & smoother with the open lid.  The Arrows drown out the sucking/honking sound & other than some sucking as the starter turns over, it doesn't seem any louder than the closed lid on the intake side.

Make sure you get the updated collectors/headers that avoid blocking the drain plug like the early SR kits.....

Oh yeah..... to the others that posted about the ECU being for the full kit & open box, that's not true.  The DP ECU is mapped for the Slip-ons & the open box, not the new larger headers & the removal of the udder.

who are you ordering the kit from?  I got mine from Ducati Seattle - pretty satisfied that I got the best price possible. 

How solid is that info? a map for a slip on and open box and a map for full kit is 2 very different maps. Slip ons are designed to be compatible with stock fueling. Opening up the airbox doesnt do much if the back end cant spit out the exahust any faster. By what you are saying, if the DP ECU is designed for slip ons and open box, using it for the full kit should it make it run leaner than it should.

Look at the pics in the catalog.... it shows the slipons & ecu together...... notice the headers have no picture of an ecu......  some guys have run a full system & been good & others like my buddy Ivan have needed to still add a PCIII.

I'm getting confused. >:(


I like the look and sound of the Termi system, are you saying that if I put this on I'll still have prblems? What's the sense of including the ECU then?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Euro 3 Ducti's & O2 sensors [laugh]

The good news is the DP ECU is open loop so it'll be much smoother even if it's still lean..... also, if you chose to tune it, the ECU is stable & won't try & override your tune.  Also, you may end up with a good map & be done with it [thumbsup]

Check TOB.........some good dynos there under S2R1K & there was one member who was able to use the Techno Research VDSTS software & trim the A/F ratio on his DP ECU.  He ended up with a very smooth fuel curve of 13/1 & 68 lft. lbs of torque & 89 HP @ the rear wheel...........5 more than I have but I think that Spectrum's dyno reads on the low side ;D

Cool, I just want a slight improvement in sound and to smooth out the injection.

I have an 06 and bought the Termi DP kit from the get go.  I have got to say I really like the ECU and the open airbox set up... BUT the termis frankly just sucked.  Unless they have changed, you had to remove the entire system just to change the oil on the 06.  Also on mine there were two welds that were so half ass that you could see exhaust leaks coming from the welds within a week.  When mine was installed by the dealer, one of the nuts on the carbon fiber cans was spun.  In addition, the alignment never could be resolved so that they would line up right and not look cock-eyed.

I finially gave up on them and kept the ECU and bought the Sparks.  I have about 12K on the Sparks and they have been great.
