I took the bike out to Mineral Wells today, and I noticed that once when I shifted into second gear the bike would pull as normal up to about 6k then quickly rev up to about 8k or so without a whole lot of pull until I shifted :P. It did it once on the way there. It did not do it on the way back to my office, but when I left my office it was fairly consistent on the way home. Any ideas--maybe plates slipping, worn springs, out of gas, tires need air, not enough turn-signal fluid? ??? It appears to be limited to second gear, but I think that it did it once in third.
Wet clutch, Motul 15-50, oil at level, etc...
Shift up earlier? Turn the volume up on your iPod?? Call Randy??

Besides the "only does it in second gear" thing I would think it was clutch slippage. Maybe it still is. ???
Your flux capacitor definitely needs recharging. You might want to top off your Dilithium crystals while you're in there. [thumbsup]

There is no reason why the clutch should slip (and it sounds like that IS happening).
I would run back to the dealer and tell them to "fix it again" [bang]

Your bike doesn't have enough miles to have wear issues come up. It does sound like your clutch is slipping. Since your bike is under warranty, I'd bring it in for service and get a Hayabusa for reliability. ;D

I also noticed last night that I have an oil leak as well coming from around the slave--tastes like engine oil alright. ;) It threw me off at first because it traveled down and to the the front of the seam between the case and cover. After wiping it down and watching it seep again, I'm pretty certain of the source. The slipping was limited to that one day, though. It did not do it yesterday and today when I rode. I'm wondering if that and the leak are related.... ???

I at least got to spend some quality time with my Brit mistress for few days of fun. [thumbsup]
I got the Monster back on Friday--no more slipping and no more leak (after a few test rides). The leak was the result of a bad push-rod seal. No telling about the slipping but the clutch pack looks fine. I was not able to replicate the problem--go figure. :P
All is well, especially after a nice ride today around some twisties.... ;D [moto] ;D
