Title: good vibrations!
Post by: whidbeymonster on September 08, 2008, 05:27:32 PM
Ok monster ladies i need some intervention. I started getting horrible headaches and massive dizzy spells 2 months ago, so bad that sometimes they make me vomit and i need to take pain killers (i never even smoked weed before!). 2 ct scans later i need surgery on my sinuses, apparently i have big problems up there. this is happening wednesday. needless to say i haven't been able to ride cause of the dizzy spells and drugs would equal disaster on a bike, and so i am depressed. every day i go into the garage and look at my bike and feel sad. every time i make the payment i feel sad-er! so if you ladies could send some mental good vibes my way i would be greatful! thanks a mil!

I know this isn't "mental vibes" but everyone needs a good laugh, that always makes me feel better!  Here you go:

About 5 years ago I fell rollerskating with my kid.  Broke a bone in my wrist in 4 places, like a cross right through it.  Surgery and 3 titanium pins later I had a cast on for the first 2 months of riding season.  That stank!  I know the feeling of looking and you can't ride.  But, you will get better and you'll be out riding again.  And probably better, too! :)  [moto]

Sending you good vibes

Big hugs.  Think of it this way - you'll feel incredibly better after the surgery and probably enjoy riding even more.  You won't have to worry about getting sick while riding.

Good luck!

Good vibes, and good vibrations headed your way!

(Your title made me laugh, because Good Vibrations is the name of a store here in the bay area that caters to ladies.....)

Before you know it, you'll be through this time in your life, and once again getting the good vibrations from your moto...  [cheeky]

I had sinus surgery - best thing I ever did.  I was getting horrible headaches and sinus infections every 3 months - crooked septum - they actually removed some bone too.  Everything was done from the inside so I don't have any scars.  I was in the hospital for most of the day and was released in the evening.  I got pain killers but didn't have to use them much.  I can breathe now!!!!  Oh sooo nice and I can smell things - sometimes not so nice  [laugh].  I am a wimp when it comes to needles and pain but I was so miserable for about a year+ that when they finally told me what the problem was and that it was fixable, I jumped at getting the surgery.

I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.  Whatever you do, follow their post-op instructions to the letter.  I did and it really helped me heal faster.

You will feel so much better! Had a boyfriend with similar issues and had it fixed... Life was good. My Dad also had a similar situation- all fixed! He was fully recovered in a few weeks. Perhaps you will be back on your moto sooner than you think! Just think of all the fun that is still to be had!  [thumbsup]

UPDATE! i survived my surgery, yeah, and so far i am doing okay, probably in big part to the percocet!  [evil] i am very excited cause i have no dizzy spells yet. it will still be another 3 weeks until i can ride, but the doc says it looks good. he also says i have very hard sinus and head bones, my husband just laughed now he says he has medical proof of what we all suspected! [laugh]  thanks for the support ladies!
