Title: Side panel removal questions
Post by: scott_araujo on September 09, 2008, 06:18:20 AM
Anyone remove the side panels but keep the crankcase breather?  Where did you put the coil?  How did you route the wires?

Thanks,
Scott

are you talking the 696?
if so, i've seen the extra parts mounted up where the horn is. but as far as the charcoal canister, i haven't seen it on without the panels.
I've noticed there are some screw holes in the piece that the vent hoses run behind, maybe you can mount it to that.

Sorry, I should clarify.  I've got an M800 dark, not S2R.  Low pipes.  I plan to ditch the charcoal canister and side panels but would like to keep the crankscase breather that vents the crankscase into the airbox.  Just wondering where people stash the coil that's under the side panel if I keep the cranskcase breather.  Most mods I've seen dithc the breather and stick the coil in the space left over.

Thanks again,
Scott

I put that coil under the seat under the tank hinge on my S2R800. It may work for you...
