In short, maybe 7 years ago, I was at Capt'n Creme's for a buddy's bday. I spent pretty much the entire night tallking to this really hot stripper. For Ha-Ha's, at the end of the night I gave her my business card and said goodbye.

That following Monday, I was checking my voicemail at work, on speakerphone, in a sea of cubes and all of a sudden "Hi Matt,it's Gina, the stripper you met at Capt'n Cremes on Saturday..." comes blaring out of my speakerphone. Like hedgehogs, all of my coworkers heads start popping up over the cube walls...

I've had a special place in my heart for that spot ever since.

I have been asked way to many times what was up and i feel i should explain.

I left the board on my personal decision. Nobody asked me to leave.

I left this board because a certain person, who has been stalking me for over 3 years now, has chimed in on this board lately as she has done in the past several times before on the DML. But something different hapened.

Same people involved, same modus operandi, same averything eccept for the way this "new" board has dealt with the issue.

In the past, on the DML, she would chime in on random threads or sections and either I would notice her or (like may times) some member of the board or even moderators (Nick, Steve im sure you remember), would refer me to some post and ask me if it was, in my opinion, her or not....

I would either report to the mods or (if it was one of them asking confirmation about her) i would confirm that it was her and she would be banned on the spot. No questions asked. No excuses.

Now.

New board, same people, same situation, different reaction...

Instead of a friendly "...dude is this her?...yes?...ok her a$$ is banned" i got a cold "No further action will be taken on this matter untill....etc etc."

Forget the ice cold lingo (i shiver at the only thought), forget that i was thinking this was a place where my friends and i were hanging around shooting the shitt and that if anyone of us had a problem we would take eachothers sides, forget that we had been doing it for 4 years and for that reason i was expecting a freindly response, forgta about ALL this and even if it wasnt so (that i am friends to you as much as i thought you are friends to me), what difference is there between what was done by the DML folks and what "you" (the new DMF) coud have done?

I know there is none...

What im trying to say is that this place is just like the old one: me, you...them and certainly her. So why the different treatment?

I guess that what really bothered me was how a 4 year active member of this "comunity", counts just as much as a...stalker.

I dont want to hear (read) about the technical BS...especially if its worded in legalese and its just a lame excuse so please save us  [thumbsup]

The bottom line is that last time she was around she got booted no questions asked. This time she still has an active account and i had to leave the board. Yes, HAD. Because knowing that she can spy on my "last posts" and gather from that information that otherwise would have been much harder to access, creaps me out.

See, Im a pretty social person (im sure plenty could testify) but since i have moved out here in CA and on the westside, where meeting interesting people who dont make a sport of flaking, is not easy, I have found most of my actual friends through this place (or rather the other place), so its hard to leave a place that you considered home.

But you gotta do what you gotta do!

I obviously don't know the whole story but it seems a blunder has occured. I mean, what did the DMF gain from allowing Luca to bow out? Amy? WTF is Amy? Nothing. Yeah, luca left on his own but it seems he left because of another forum member that isn't following the forum rules (which clearly say no e-stalking). If he feels uncomfortable here we have a problem. Nobody should.

Admins. How bout we do a rewind? Something we can't do in life very often. Do a mod e-meeting, reevaluate the facts, including previous known occurance's at the DML, and maybe help a brother out. Then we can move on and forget this hiccup happened.

Want to post up the actual communication that went back and forth?    That's a pretty lopsided version.

you all know that anyone in the world can read what's posted here whether they're banned or not right?   banning her just means she can't post.   If she's here "gathering information" then I can do absolutely nothing about that.

I'm sorry you feel I didn't do enough.    I warned her about her one wierd post, said that your relationship was off limits, and that one more post on the topic would be permanent ban.    That's fewer warnings and a more serious ban than would happen for anything or anyone else (two newbies in the same scenerio for example).

I haven't used legalese...well...ever.    If she's a danger to you please take the appropriate action...not so I would then do something but for your own safety.    If she's not a danger but an annoyance,  stop hooking up with off balanced people.

This isn't the DML and it's not all the same people.   Lots of banned folks from then have been participating here.   One of the biggest complaints there was the bans.

So again, if the extra step of me communicating with her one time was so rotten and indicative of the forum "not having your back"  then not sure you'll ever be satisfied.

Love to have you back.   If she does it again she'll be gone.  Then if she shows up again after that she'll be gone.   That's what we've allways said.

Thanks for the clarification Statler. Luca. Man up and re-log. If she is a real problem get a restraining order if you don't already have one. If you don't have one and aren't going to get one...then she isn't that big of a problem.

Chris, all i wanted was help form a friend and i got none. Thats it.

All the pages and pages of how we are a comunity, a family, all the good initiatives to help fellow DMFrs, all the good will, the comradery...you guys cant even take my parts in a pretty simple situation like this one?...

Debate techniques that divert the attention from the part of the discussion you dont like, are pretty easy and basic...lets stick to the topic. The real topic.

The real topic (for the distracted ones) is why did I leave this board. And the answer is that i was looking for support from a friend and i got none.
Thats it.

We could debate for hrs about the necessity or not to get a restraining order OR (wich would be much more interesting) we could discuss about the actual effectiveness of a restraining order...but thats not what we are talking about here, now.

So go on and post those PMs and show us how "friendly" your language was....dude, my insurance claims department has been friendlyer...and forget that just to get your attention i had to "report to moderstors" at least 3 times before even hearing "peep"

that's a pretty nice 'make the beast with two backs you' to the forum community because the administrators decided not to get rid of one of your ex girlfriends in the exact manner you wanted.   

Pretty rational.  I'll make a big speach about community and family, and then when they disagree with me I'll tell them all to go to hell and never deal with them again.

So which part of the discussion was I averting with my distraction technique (wtf?) ?   The part where you asked the admins to ban a member with no questions and no communication and we (all of us) said no?    That we'd ban her for violating the much more strict rules we set out for her...and that wasn't good enough for you?

If you're going to use the guilt family/community bullshit argument when you don't get your way then I get to point out that storming out the door while sulking that the 'family' doesn't love you is not the way to make yourself more endearing and fun.


I say this as I would to any of my dearest friends here to their face and it's not meant with any ill will at all... you are acting like a drama queen.
