Title: Any tips on removing a windscreen? Post by: moto-zen on September 11, 2008, 09:21:20 AM I don't want to break the bolts. But trying to remove the windscreen has been a real pregnant dog. Someone mentioned lifting the gauges. ??? I don't see the connection. BTW it's a '98 M900.
Thanks. Title: Re: Any tips on removing a windscreen? Post by: ICON on September 11, 2008, 09:31:28 AM I know with mine I had to remove the Gauges to get to the Left bolt. Once I removed both bolts the screen came right off.

I was able to get mine out without shifting the Speedo/Tach, but I couldn't replace them without doing so. Title: Re: Any tips on removing a windscreen? Title: Re: Any tips on removing a windscreen? Post by: Arimaul on September 16, 2008, 07:50:47 PM I just took mine off a few hours ago. Same pain in rear. I ended up taking the headlight off and going in from the bottom.
Title: Re: Any tips on removing a windscreen? Post by: NYCmonster on September 17, 2008, 05:06:38 PM Yes, big pain in the ass taking it off. [bang] But it can be done without removing the gauge. It's a tight fit on both sides. The right was a little easier. I used an open ended wrench. You have to be creative and try all angles to get at the bolt, I even ended up turning one bolt with the open end wrench right on top (twisting the wrench like a screw driver).
