it's officially the silly season for wsbk and motogp racing Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: mattyvas on September 13, 2008, 03:37:09 AM I think Hayden will do great at Ducati, he likes a family kind of team and that is what Ducati provide.
And as he says a few times in that interview he is looking forward to being part of a team again. Not just the other bloke who rides the bike. I think his style will suit Ducati, he has always been very agressive with his bikes and that is what the Ducati seems to need. Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: Ita on September 13, 2008, 04:43:34 AM I like Nicky, but really what a make the beast with two backsing waste of a bike... Nicky won the title in 06 because everyone else lost it... He has been in MotoGP for what 4?? years and Laguna (2) aside what other races has he won?? Only one I think... He is an under achiever and should be on the SBK...
Don't get me going on about that twat Gibernau.... Sheesh........ ??? Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: The Don on September 13, 2008, 12:42:31 PM http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2008/Suppo+Ducati+lineups+to+become+clearer+next+week

[puke] Yup HIM..... I saw an internet rumor that a Spanish sponser was going to set him up on a single bike team :'( Old guys like him... Especially him should make the beast with two backs of [bang] Ita Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: brad black on September 13, 2008, 03:41:19 PM since 1949 there's been 11 people who have one only 1 title, including stoner and 13 multiple winners. 24 out of how many really, really good riders that have ridden at that level.
go back and none of them since gardner have actually won it convincingly - hayden won because rossi didn't, roberts won because no one else did, creville won because doohan crashed out, schwantz won because rainey and doohan crashed. sete came second 2 or 3 times, just like max. like aaron slight in superbike, they're never going to win tho, just because. i can't see pedrosa ever winning now either, really. Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: Dockstrada on September 13, 2008, 04:14:26 PM Pedrosa will never win

Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: mattyvas on September 13, 2008, 04:53:11 PM That's when he forgot to engage the launch control system and tried a start with all the ponies bolting out of the gate.....
World Champion in the making and look at C.V. who I think was beside him. He is wondering WTF are you doing kid.... He is an under achiever and should be on the SBK... Don't get me going on about that twat Gibernau.... Sheesh........ ??? i thought the same about hayden until it became so bloody obvious he was being screwed over royally by the spanish armada in his own team! alberto puig (spanish) his team manager lumbered hayden with all the testing duties of new parts, remember that useless clutch? while pedrosa (spanish) was given everything that worked first. add to that repsol (oh yeah, spanish) refused to say/do anything when pedrosa' brain fade caused a T-bone on his own team mate!!! and he still won the title. adversity comes from all corners i suppose, but it really looked to me from the outside looking in that his own team was engineering his failure for pedrosa to succeed. i don't think he'll ever be a champion either, and gibernau? what a hambone! he is such a wanker, he fell ass backwards onto the best machinery after whoever was riding it got injured early in his career and did stuff all with it, he had one good year on the movistar honda rc211v and was mind make the beast with two backsed by rossi soon after. Being the grandson of the founder of bultaco and spanish has advantages, but he's nowhere near the complete package, and i don't think he ever was. paul. Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: CairnsDuc on September 16, 2008, 02:52:18 AM There has been many a knowledgeable commentator that has noted the Honda team has some strange ways of giving out the go fast bits, you want the good bits, you have to go faster, Hayden was screaming at the team earlier this year for the New Pneumatic engine, there somewhat strange response was "Improve your performance, you will get the new engine" (granted, the first time Nicky tried it in testing he didn't like the way it reacted to his throttle inputs, but with tweaking by the test riders they sorted it out and in testing he grew to like it's increased performance and power) There test rider said the engine was better, his team mate said it was better, but no, until you get in the top 5, you don't get the new engine. yet Pedrosa was given the new engine without even asking for it, is it any wonder Hayden came out and pregnant doged about the team restricting his chances, a few well placed public comments, and suddenly he was given the engine. He has said on a few occasions that he has struggled with the logic of the new team owners, they withhold new parts and upgrades that will assist in going faster, when he asks why, same response, you go faster, you will get new parts yet Pedrosa gets the Bits without a single Comment. And let's not even get started on the shit heaps that are the Michelin tyres. Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: mattyvas on September 16, 2008, 03:08:35 AM Yeah it just seems to be in Hondas culture.....
Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: mattyvas on September 16, 2008, 10:33:46 PM It's official, heard it this morning, Nicky will be in red next year.
Let's hope he gets it up the pointy end so Casey and Ducati can have two sets of reliable data. Can't wait to see him taming that GP9. Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: dragonworld. on September 16, 2008, 11:56:34 PM Heh Spanish seem to be ok with the smaller bikes but dont nseem to cope too well in the premier class (Doohan and Wasshisname springs to mind??)
Size of bike equals size of weenie?? ;D Emotionally fragile, unstable lot, and are fine when their background (ethnically and sponsors) spoon feed the prima dona's, but when it comes down to some hard application and determination (particularly emotionally) they crash and burn. [roll] And the nips are pandering to it !! (Screw the ability, SHOW ME THE MONEEEEEYYYY!!) Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: sydmonster on September 17, 2008, 12:39:53 AM ...hmmm, I can't predict who's going where.
BUT!!! I bet Ducati are kicking themselves for letting Loris go!... seriously. If any one knew how to ride these bucking Dukes it's him! - Chris Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: loony888 on September 17, 2008, 01:04:22 AM err, no.
loris couldn't get to grips with the electronics package and just like melandri he floundered. his exceptional talent kept him midfield not the back, but his old school (and he is the most experienced rider in the paddock) style wouldn't work. melandri is younger and should have done better given his ability but i'm guessing he expected it to be easier than it was, cause the desmosedici was obviously capable! ;) and i agree with dragonworld on the primadonna spaniards, ruben xaus is the only spanish rider i rate at all. the rest are either over the top hambones like gibernau or moody sulking tryhards like pedrosa. speaking of pedrosa, those bridgestones made a huge difference to his finishing position [roll] paul. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Hayden to Ducati Post by: sydmonster on September 17, 2008, 04:15:57 PM err, no. fair enough, but I don't agree. Loris won races on that Duke and now its a better bike with better electronics that took Casey & team (basically on their own) time to develop and sort out. With the help of Loris, this in my opinion would have happened quicker. loris couldn't get to grips with the electronics package and just like melandri he floundered. his exceptional talent kept him midfield not the back, but his old school (and he is the most experienced rider in the paddock) style wouldn't work. melandri is younger and should have done better given his ability but i'm guessing he expected it to be easier than it was, cause the desmosedici was obviously capable! ;) [roll] paul. [thumbsup] If you were team manager, what would you rather consistent mid pack and the odd win, or consistantly at the back... (ie Loris Vs Melandri?) Don't forget that this would have ment faster bike development, more team points, thus probably 2nd in constructors, 2nd in team, not 3rd... - Chris ps, regardless I do see your point though. Loris had the measure of the 990 and the change to the 800 with the new electronics all at the same time overwhelmed him a bit i reckon, but sure he would have finished higher up the order and brought more team and constructors points. why didn't they just stay with the 990? the 800 was faster on debut anyway! [bang] paul [thumbsup] YUP! bang on the money paul! I still don't know what MotoGp & their governing bodies were thinking that making the bike smaller in CC's would slow them down. Their going to go faster regardless, the competition and need to win will always push that. F1 has been teaching us that for years!... still. Im sure it was done for a reason. - Chris |
