Anyone got one?
In a fit of boredom, and the fact than I'm a sucker for gadgets, I just purchased a Roomba and a Scooba (hard floor cleaner).
Just ran the roomba, pretty quiet for a vacuum... now I can nap while vacuuming. [thumbsup]
I want one but no way it can handle 2 cats and Newfoundland.
I think it would live for maybe a hour at most in my house.
The one I picked up claims to work well with pet hair.
I took care of my friends Maine Coon a few months ago... fat hairy bastard shed all over the place! Just ran the roomba, and the collection bin had all kinds of cat hair in it that my regular vacuum obviously didn't pick up.
I have a roomba and a regular vac.
The roomba is the inbetween super cleaning vacuum. It gets run 1-2 times a week, then the regular vac comes out every other weekend to get in the corners and up against the table legs where the roomba can't go (the round shape doesn't work well with corners).
over all...I like it....it's a very geeky way to clean ;D
Are you guys really discussing vacuum cleaners? Seriously? [roll]

Yup.
The kind that will clean your house while you are out riding!
There's not much excitement up in ND to keep the Rev. entertained.
Especially headed into winter!
Don't knock the bot.
The one for floors works better than the one for carpet. (So I'll keep Judy around)

We've got one of the high end models. It works, but with the 3 cats, it has to be emptied often. We use it on the wood floor, and on the carpet The rotating brush tends to break often also, but this is a known issue. I think it came with a spare. If you have good furniture, it WILL F' it up a bit.

I thought the roomba was not a vacuum but rather a sweeper. Does it have a motor for sucking stuff now?
I'm so going to mount a airsoft gun on my roomba [evil]
the dogs will LOOOOVVVVEEE that [laugh]

That sucks.
However, something like a Roomba would totally freak out my cats AND help with picking up all the fur they drop in between vacuuming with the Rainbow ~

EWWWWW, You have a rainbow? I HATE THOSE VACUUMS. OVER PRICED bulky pieces of crap i grew up using to vacuum my home. I hated using that thing and still do. My mom loves them but insists that i throw away the water.
It's perfect for the pet hair & related. Works very well & pulls fur out of upholstry & carpet like nothing I've ever found. Yea, it's bulky & the water is like vomit soup warmed over but my house is clean after I use it!
