Title: Leo vince gp exhaust for my monster 696
Post by: Mugen939 on September 15, 2008, 06:05:36 PM
holy crap is this thing tits. This is the loudest damn thing I've ever heard, it's amazing!! The instillation took about 2 hours since the damn thing doesn't come with instructions!  [bang] i haven't even turned the bike on with the baffles. I installed, took baffles out, started it up, pissed off any neighbors living within a damn country mile!! I thought the termi exhaust sounded nice but this is just so much better. I'm gonna have them powder coated later this week but man, I've never ridden something this loud...it's seriously mind blowing.

Sounds great, and looks good too.  How does it run?

How does it work without ECU update? Any check engine lights or something like that?

It runs very well, no popping to speak of. Heat temps seem to be the same as well. Got to run it on the highway this morning. It really sounds great in the upper RPM range. No check engine light or anything like that.

They sound great!!

Make sure you get them CERAMIC coated, NOT powder-coated.  [beer]

My job only paints with powdercoating. We have a high temp black matte finish that's good up 600 degrees F. That's what I'm gonna use. Gonna do a few other bits as well, I've used it before for a few parts on my friends bike and they came out incredibly. The best part, it's free!  [thumbsup]

Those are my favorite high mounted exhaust for the 696 yet. They'll be even better after they're black.  [thumbsup]

Hmmm...cool!  I wasn't aware that there was power-coating suitable for exhaust systems.  [thumbsup]

I got them from monsterparts.com. Jeff is by far the best online vendor I've had to deal with.  He also gave me a smokin price of 630$. I highly recomend him!

i like that they look a bit thinner than stock in that they don't have as much of a trumpet look to them..nice.

try them with the baffles in them, i'm sure they are still going to be louder than stock.

personally i think there is a point at which bikes get too loud, and then are just obnoxious (most harleys with straight pipes or the quad boxes)

those sound awesome.  do you think there is any way you could get a buddy to record a video of you ripping through 1st and second on the street?  i would love to hear what the exhaust sounds like under load.

thats great that it still runs good on the stock ECU.  thats the only reason i am considering termi.  i want the bike to run right when i get an exhaust....especially with the baffles out cause thats the only way to go. :)
