Im getting a multitude of things stacking up that need fixing on my bike, im taking it in to Chesire's but dont know the contact info.

Can anyone steer me to him?

speaking of maintenance... My bike is in need of a valve adjustment/belts the whole bit it's sitting over 13k miles... I have been a bad owner and have not done any of the scheduled services except for oil changes and a new chain so I figured I should probably start now. 

I have belts, plugs, oil and filter just need to tear it apart and get the appropriate shims and any other neccisary supplies.  How hard is this to pull off by myself?  any specialty tools required?

Get a dental pick and a surgical clamp for valves and half rings it helps a bit. 

And some chewing gum...

The Ducati tool for keeping the cogs from spinning when you remove the belts would be nice but if you look around you can find direcections on how to do it without that tool . . . it's like $400!

I messed up and let mine spin but managed after a few attempts to get them in sync again.  But it wasn't a good running bike the 1st 2 times.

Yah, you're right only one did but in my panic it sure looked like they all did!

i switched out my brake pads this morning at 4am....first time i did it but no problems [thumbsup]

I tightened my chain too, went out and bought a torque wrench and a rivet pop gun and rivets to finish off my cans. Doing the drilling now (realize i need a good metal bit) figured i need to do all this sheet myself.  [beer] So far all my things have gone okay....im wondering what the problem is.... [moto]

 I bought the NGK wire set from Cheshire, emulsion tubes, oil Filter. Met the guy's that run the place and they are some cool cats. I liked the shop also.  Not to dis Motocorsca, But I like the atmosphere at Cheshire more, not so yuppy ;D. I haven't had them perform any maintence on the bike, since I'm a weekend mechanic. ;).

I haven't done a valve job  on my 01 M750 But I have been told that it is pretty basic. There is a video at Ca Cycleworks(I believe) that walks you through the whole thing. I'll be taking care of it this winter. I'm thinking about Tearing the whole bike apart and having the frame  powder coated along with the gas tank, fenders, swing arm,  rearsets, possibley anodizing the forks. That is if I have the money and I rented a clean storage unit to have the space  to tear it down. I've also thought about getting a custom full s/s exhuast system done rather then my slip on arrows, even though I love the sound of them.

it figures Ducati would make a make the beast with two backs awful expensive tool for that

the other way you can do it is just match mark the pulleys with a piece of tape before you remove the belts

If I'd been keeping tabs on this thread earlier, I would've suggested the same.  That's what I plan to do this winter when I replace belts as part of the 12k service.  Well, I might not use tape... I'll probably use a marker or paint (like all the bolts I have match-marked so it's easy to visually tell whether anything has loosened).

Either way...  +1 to what Mother said, just match-mark the sprockets/pulleys.  [thumbsup]  It's cheap & simple.

There is a dimple and a line you use to line them up.
