Anyway, bought a PCIII on ebay. They guy said it was a USB. it isnt. its for a 2003 620IE. Anyone know if i can load up a map for an S2R and make it run? Honestly, I am asking because i CANNOT find someone with a serial to USB cable. I dont even have a serial port. Can you even connect the PCIII USB software to the serial versions? He said "it will work" etc. i said no it wont. filed a claim. in the resolution center, he says okay, i will take it back, and he also sends me an email saying hell return the shipping cost both ways. So I replied (in the resolution center) okay, give me your address, and verify the that you said you are goign to give me a full refund + shipping costs back to you. He hasn't said anything and its been over 24 hours.
I have 2 PCIII's in my house a PCIIIR an a PCIII USB. I found out my onw answer thouhg. USB software is not backwards compatible, so i have no way of loading a map onto it, which means im not even going to bother looking for a serial cable. Anyone have a PCIII for sale? lol a USB ONE! Those adapters are really iffy. Unfortunately a lot of the stuff I work on at work is still 9-pin serial, the stuff's a pain to work with. brand new? Box was cut on the corners to open. 2003-2006? no, just 03. USB version came out and that one is made for 2003-2006. PCIIIUSB? no PCIIIR.
