My first book began shipping this week from Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. It's a history of BMW motorcycles, featuring fantastic photos of vintage and current Beemers mixed with some tastefully written prose. 8)
Last year, I took Toasty out to Long Island when I kicked off the book project. Photos from our visit to Nettesheim's BMW museum can be found here (http://www.rpmri.com/v/toasty/?g2_GALLERYSID=228fabdba9207991a4b6e82a341d5e04).
The book looks great, and I'm really proud of it. Click on the pic below for more info. [thumbsup]

If you want an autographed copy, you can buy it from me directly. I'll sell it to you for $28 + shipping, and I can personalize the inscription or simply sign it. That price is competitive with Amazon's current price, but I have to charge for shipping. (UPS Ground, or equivalent) PayPal is the easiest payment method.
Send an email to me if you have questions or want to order a copy: info@rpmri.com?subject=Art of BMW -- DMF order Be sure to include your mailing address so I can give you a shipping price quote.

Congrats for taking the time / effort to make the book happen -- most people talk about doing it but most never do.

Thanks for the nice responses, everybody! I'm really excited about how the book turned out. :)
We did this book about BMWs because we had access to Peter Nettesheim's spectacular collection of vintage Beemers. He has more than 100 BMW bikes, almost all of which are exquisitely restored. (The bikes that
aren't restored are either kept in as-found condition or they are in the restoration "queue") Mr. Nettesheim has examples of virtually every pre-WWII BMW boxer in his collection -- sometimes even multiple copies of the same model. Frankly, there are only a couple of collections of BMWs in the world that rival Mr. Nettesheim's. BMW Motorrad frequently borrows Peter's bikes for use in promotions and displays, including their recent stint as the 'featured marque' at the AMA museum in Pickerington, OH. His bikes have also been crated and shipped
to Germany for BMW events. The bikes are just that good.
I'm laying the groundwork for writing my second moto-book this fall. A Ducati book is also a possibility -- I've discussed this with a few people and made some phone calls. We'll see if/how it shapes up. ;D ;)
I shall purchase this book.
Congrats!
[thumbsup]
Congrats - will definitely order one

If the rest of the book is as well put together as the cover, it should be awesome. Serious congratulations! Oh, and I'll be wanting one. PM on its way....

Yes, you can order it here (http://www.amazon.com/Art-BMW-Years-Motorcycling-Excellence/dp/0760333157/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1221755312&sr=8-1) from Amazon.
If anyone would like a personalized or autographed copy, send me a PM or email (info@rpmri.com&subject=Art of BMW - DMF order). You can then purchase from me directly, and I'll sign it or write a custom inscription.

Great book Peter. Just got mine in the mail. Thanks for the quick response and the autograph!! [clap]
My father has the OTHER Toasty. The R75 Toaster Tank (oddly he has the same handlebar turn signals shown on the cover). I'll have to pick this up for him as a birthday gift.
I recently received my signed copies of "The Art of BMW: 85 Years of Motorcycling Excellence". I was thinking of writing a long review, but since this is beyond my ability anyway, I will keep it simple.
The book is FANTABULUS!
