For a long time I've wanted this sort of set-up, but only recently was I able to find a machinist skilled enough to put a hole into the headlight I wanted

It's a Headwinds headlight (normally for coughHarleyscough) and a Motogadget Classic.
Photos to follow once I have this, the clip-ons and the Sport Classic triple mounted.
Wow [thumbsup]
Effin' sick!
Can't wait to see the finished product.
And I think its okay to use *cough*cruiser*cough* parts if the end product is well-done and original. [thumbsup]
I've got a pair of turn signals from a Victory Vegas in mind to clean up the back end of my Sport 1K.

Doesn't the Vegas use the same stock signals as most Ducs? Trying to recall the last time I was in the Victory shop.
Very nice indeed. Cruiser shit on a sportbike is great. Does the lighting assy still fit inside ok? How deep is that tach.

For the stock turn signals, yes. ;)
I've already said too much...
that's hot.

The tach is a stepper motor tach, so it's only about one inch deep. And the headlight is about 6 inches long, so there's no issue fitting the headlight in there.
And the bike already has some other cruiser parts "repurposed" to work in ways they were never intended... Full dresser turn signals as a dual tailight, bullet turn signals.
Unfortunately all the pics are up on TOB :(
Sexcellent. [thumbsup]
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D What an eye candy man... [clap] [clap] [clap] I can't wait to see more pictures, no wait, I can't wait to see it in person at the next Z guys.. If you will be there, I don't care if I have laundry on Thursdays, i will be there.....!!!
It's cool to see people with the vision to put parts on something other than what it was designed for. Can't wait for pics. [popcorn]
That's it. I *officially* hate you now.
Ok, nicely done DM... ya bastid.

That flat out rocks. God damn
Well, it's wired in and working!
Mods also included a sport classic top triple (bored for SBK forks and with a steering tube spacer) and a set of Thomaselli clip-ons

Now I just have to...
Tap the rear brake mount for the speedo sensor.
Hook up the Oil temp sensor.
Wire in the turn signal indicator (diodes needed)
And since I had to cut off the key mount so the new triple would fit (I mounted the key down on the lower right side of the frame) now I have to figure out how to keep the gas tank on ;D
Oh yeah, and re route the wiring & cables. It's pretty messy at the moment
Suuuhwwweeeet! [thumbsup] You got a cockpit shot? And no, that's a not a request for dirty pics. Hmmm . . . . on second thought, mebbe it is. [evil]).
When you get the oil temp sensor working, gimme a holler. I still can't get mine to operate properly.

I still like the leather strap idea (no, that's not supposed to be dirty either, ya perv). Alternatively, you should take a look at what Stu did with mine. There's a bolt underneath the tank that keeps it attached.
very nice sir [thumbsup]
You've seriously cleaned up the front end quite a bit. The whole thing looks great! [thumbsup]
Side note: That first picture kinda reminds me of the ebay auction where the guy was selling a teapot.

Did Stu' set you up with a new oil temp sensor, or are you using the stock one? I went ahead and ordered a new one from MotoGadget just to make sure it'd read correctly...

I'm using a stock one. I didn't realize the Motogadget had their own (I'm gonna look into that). The problem is trying to program the gauge for min/max temps for the sensor. I can't get the gauge to go down as low as the min or up as high as the max. I'd have to show it to you to explain. It only goes up in increments of 2 and then only certain combinations of numbers work for the tens and hundreds digits. I haven't sat down with it for an afternoon and really figured it out. If I give you beer, will you show me how you did it? (No, that's not meant to be dirty either).
BTW, motogadget, tomasellis, stock but modded Ducati triple, and modded key/tank placement? Sounds like a winning combo. [laugh]
There's something shiny in the valley, let's check it out.
Nice work. [thumbsup]

Come by sometime before your wife gives birth. Because we both know you're never leaving the house afterward :)
