Uhhhhh, I call bullshit on that one. I could understand if the guy had started filming after he had started, but the timing is just too perfect on that...

you, know, it seems like that first accident could have been avoided simply by the tow truck driver putting his stabilizers down

Yea, that or if he had just let the winch reel out slowly, until someone could get in the truck & get it stopped.  I guess the driver was too busy trying to get out to think about setting the air brake ~

Spring brakes.

The service brakes are air brakes, parking brakes are spring brakes.

Hence the truck doesn't have to be running for the parking brakes to work.

Yea, the parking/spring brake works on the lack of air to be set.  I passed my air brakes test with a perfect score ~

So then why were you saying that he should've been sitting in there with his foot on the brake pedal?   ???

(I'm just givin' ya a hard time.  [cheeky]  ;) )

Yea, picked the wrong term  [laugh]  Because I'm a school bus driver, it's beaten and beaten into my head about setting the brake.  Even tipped over, I'd probably instictively pull that little yellow knob before climbing out  [laugh]  We're not even allowed to load/unload children when we stop at the school without locking the brakes ~

I just watched it again.

Look behind the drive tires, the outriggers were down.

I don't think it was real. It looks way fake. The footage looks too bright and too grainy compared to the rest of the footage....
