Title: Analog GPS Unit Post by: NateDog on September 23, 2008, 09:00:57 AM I've got to get me one of these... ;) ;D
From the Aerostich catalog: "Take your batteries and slavish dependence on other high-tech flummery and heave it overboard. With this device, you can pinpoint your location anywhere on earth and not be reliant on dodgy bits of information being projected through the ether by divers black arts. Precision constructed of brass and the finest optics available and featuring premium isinglass sun filters, it is compact and rugged enough for the adventurous motor-cyclist. Mounts for 7/8" and 1" bars are included, as is a fitted, velvet lined rosewood storage case. Not included are required declination charts (call for details) or the extremely accurate watch you are going to need to use this thing. Meets R.N. standard 3329-5 of 1787." http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Analog-GPS-p-17418.html (http://media4.dropshots.com/photos/394688/20080923/094846.jpg) On the Bike: (http://media5.dropshots.com/photos/394688/20080923/094916.jpg) [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] Title: Re: Analog GPS Unit Post by: Slide Panda on September 23, 2008, 09:11:24 AM Gotta love the folks at 'stitch. All sorta of goodies like that on their site. I think my personal favorite is still the 'Just add water, powdered gasoline' for it simplicity.

Title: Re: Analog GPS Unit Post by: tangueroHondo on September 26, 2008, 08:33:49 PM It amazing to me that man is capable of creating such a thing as a sextant. We can create a reference point for ourselves by using as perspective something many millions of miles away, all of it moving relative to each oether. But we can't even come close to getting along.
Speaking of which - why the hell was the President of Iran on Larry King this week???? Why is he being given a podium? Title: Re: Analog GPS Unit Post by: teddy037.2 on September 26, 2008, 09:31:27 PM OMG!
WANT!!! ;D how do you program it to find restaurants? Title: Re: Analog GPS Unit Post by: Slide Panda on September 27, 2008, 05:30:40 AM It's called a sextant. They have a constant stream of gag items like this on their site and in their catalog. Title: Re: Analog GPS Unit Post by: NAKID on September 27, 2008, 08:57:52 PM I know, but some people won't understand why it's supposed to be funny unless they know what it is in the first place...
