Like many people, every few years I replace my motorcycle helmets.
Well I threw one out a year ago (almost to the week, actually). On my helmets I have an emergency pouch for info if I wreck...who to call, meds, living will, etc...
I must have forgotten to remove that. Someone must have taken the helmet from the landfill. This guy found it on the street in front of his work today, all busted up with a shattered jaw and visor and called everyone on the emergency contact list.
It gets better....
I was out of cell phone range all morning.
You see where this is going?!
I get into range and get 15 missed calls and a handful of panicked voicemails saying to call...but without why.
I finally reach people, hear that someone found the helmet shattered today, and immediately think my house was broken into. I speed back, not thinking about an old helmet from a year ago, but visioning my garage open, Ducatis and gear gone.
LOL. wow. It wasn't until I got there that I called the guy who found it and realized what really happened. Note to self...dont be a dumbass...remember to removed emergency pouch next time.
now THATS classic....
:)
