Title: S2r 1000 pazzo install problem Post by: vaclav on September 26, 2008, 02:24:36 PM Anybody know where I can get a spare for that plunger pin and bushing that go in the clutch lever? I bought some Pazzos but I can't get the set screw out of the bushing in the stock lever. The dealership says the only way to get a spare is by buying the whole $250.00 assembly. I know I read somewhere about somebody else having the same problem but I can't search it up. Anybody know a cheaper solution? I don't want to keep messing with my stock one and make it unusable but I'd like to find a cheaper-than-$250.00 solution. Appreciate any help.

One of his most recent posts said he didn't have much for levers but I will give him a try. Thanks for reminding me. Anybody now where to get the stuff new?
Title: Re: S2r 1000 pazzo install problem Post by: Howie on September 26, 2008, 07:38:08 PM Is your dealer charging you $250 for a lever (which is available seperately) or a whole master cylinder assembly? A new lever can be bought from Yoyodyne for about $80, and your dealer should be able to get one for a little more.

I had the same problem installing new levers--it took me about 4.7 seconds to round off the set screw. I wrapped electricians tape around the plunger pin so it wouldn't get chewed up, then backed it out with a pair of vice grips. Reinstalled the bushing in the new lever, applied Loctite to the threads of the plunger pin, and seated it to the proper depth. Hope this helps. After searching the internet this is what I found and it helped me. If there is any gunk in the set screw head, clean it out. I used a pin to get that stuff out of there. Once it was clean I bought a new set of metric allen wrenches. Don't buy those allen wrenches that are just thrown in a group bin, because you want the edges of the new allen key as mint as possible. I was able to get the set screw out with no problem after that.
