Title: Arrow Top Mount Damper
Post by: JTMOTO on September 27, 2008, 10:33:57 AM
I appreciate you guys helping me find a top mount damper but i think my question should have been: If my S2R Dark has the thinner standard handlebar (not the conical tapered bar) will the top mount work?  It looks like these mounts replace the handlebar clamp and therefore would be loose on my thin bar.  I want to order the Arrows damper but I am afraid it will not work.

Compatibility is not so much an issue of the handlebar diamenter but the spacing between the handle bar riser clamp bolts for mounting the damper rod bracket and the height difference between the key block bolts and the top of the riser clamp.   I have an Arrow damper on an S4R. The riser bolt spacing is 39mm or 1.535" .  I'm not sure about height. I suggest calling a dealer.  I got mine from Indy Superbike http://www.indysuperbike.com/customer/home.php?cat=28447.    Buying experience was good and their prices were the lowest I could find and they were very helpful and even called the factory when I asked them about compatibility.

Does your mount replace the handlebar clamp or just sit on top?
Thanks

My Arrow did not replace the handlebar clamp, the mount just sits on top.  The kit came with longer bolts to attach to the handlebar clamp.
