Title: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Travman on September 29, 2008, 09:52:20 AM I went to the Italian Motofest this weekend in Shepherdstown, WV. The attendance was low b/c of rain in the morning. However there was one bike that made the trip worth while. This bike was the highlight of the show for me. It is a customized Super Sport 1000 DS. The builder was Lazareth of France.

With the exception of those cans. I think it'd look better with a set that were a little less... enormous. I'm diggin' those fenders. Are the two colors just paint, or are they two different materials? [cheeky] Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: stopintime on September 29, 2008, 01:11:30 PM (http://www.tonys240.com/thumbnails/ricer.jpg) I just love the understated styling ;D [roll] Less is more? Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: stopintime on September 29, 2008, 01:12:28 PM BoomTubes and the Lazareth would be close to perfect [thumbsup]

[thumbsup] Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: monsta on September 29, 2008, 01:42:15 PM i like it except for the poxy oil cooler...
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: kopfjäger on September 29, 2008, 02:31:50 PM I love that bike. I didn't know it was here in the states. [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: MotoCreations on September 29, 2008, 03:19:50 PM I love that bike. I didn't know it was here in the states. [thumbsup] A friend does machine work for Lazareth -- it came in awhile ago via rumours. Never could confirm though. Work is supposedly "top notch" from friends who have seen / worked on it overseas. I'm personally glad to see another "quality built" custom Ducati project here in the states. As for a set of my BoomTubes and the above? Thanks for the compliment. Hopefully the owner just rides and enjoys it and shows it to inspire more Ducati creations from enthusiasts in the future. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Magnus on September 29, 2008, 03:29:50 PM have to agree with rameses... those cans ruin it for me. besides the look, might be hard to see the brake light as well. other than the exhaust, pretty darn cool though...

That is two different materials on the fender. I assume the red parts are plastic. The black was carbon fiber. Work is supposedly "top notch" from friends who have seen / worked on it overseas. I'm personally glad to see another "quality built" custom Ducati project here in the states. I definitely thought the work was "top notch". The billet belt covers and billet triple trees were impressive. The owner was a Frenchman working in the U.S. who knows Lazareth (I'm not sure if Lazareth is a person or the company name). He bought the bike here, had it shipped to Lazareth for the work and then it was shipped back. The owner was a really nice guy for putting up with my questions. As for the size of the pipes. I agree they may be a little big for some. They definitely were a big part of the look of the bike. In person they didn't look so big. They actually seem to make the bike look smaller. The whole bike was definitely tiny looking. I saw the bike ride past me on the way to the show and the pipes seemed very impressive with the rider on it blasting past. This is what I saw: (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm21/JonTravisKing/Italian%20Motofest%202008/Motofest05_LazarethSS1000.jpg?t=1222733212) Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Charlief on September 29, 2008, 04:08:55 PM I like it...but do agree that the cans are a little to big for my taste.
Tom? Thats your old bike isn't it? Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Rameses on September 29, 2008, 04:25:56 PM That is two different materials on the fender. I assume the red parts are plastic. The black was carbon fiber. Very cool, that's what I was hoping. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Raux on September 29, 2008, 05:15:12 PM that's a sad end to a beautiful SS :'(
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Jumptship on September 29, 2008, 05:23:04 PM the cans are a little to big for my taste. Cans can never be too big... [bacon] [laugh] [laugh] Okay, the mufflers are a little big for our liking. ;) Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: M(*)nster on September 29, 2008, 06:50:10 PM You guys ought to look up Lazareth's other bike creations. He's pretty famous for some of his radical designs.
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: kopfjäger on September 29, 2008, 07:42:07 PM that's a sad end to a beautiful SS :'( Dude, you have got to be kidding. :o Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Raux on September 29, 2008, 07:55:19 PM sorry the SS is one of my fav bikes. to see one chopped apart for that... yeah a sad end.
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Monstermash on September 30, 2008, 07:59:34 AM Tom? Thats your old bike isn't it? Yes it is. I was a bit surprised when I saw it in the pic. From the looks of it Yuu has been taking very good care of it. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Toxic on September 30, 2008, 08:44:11 AM I love it and applaud the creativity but I would last only long enough to ride to the local burn unit for a skin graft on my inner thighs.
Those pipes look like they would do some damage. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: IZ on September 30, 2008, 09:56:27 AM There was a pic of one floating around a few years back on TOB. Anyone got that pic? I believe it was computer generated pic for a contest a few years ago? Anyone have that pic? I know someone built the actual bike but I don't think it was the one in this thread. Seems like it looked a bit better than this one. I'd still take it though!! [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: il d00d on September 30, 2008, 10:00:06 AM (http://www.tonys240.com/thumbnails/ricer.jpg) I am no engineer, but I don't think downforce should be caused by weight. On a totally unrelated note, love the CF hood. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: MotoCreations on September 30, 2008, 10:07:21 AM There was a pic of one floating around a few years back on TOB. the JB Flat Red Supersport --> http://www.duccutters.com/JVB-Moto-FlatRed.tpl Unfortunately SuperSports don't hold their value well. (especially in comparison to Monsters) The older pre-98's in the classic configuration do much better. The newer ones with fuel injection -- cheap and once you sell off the bodywork (good money), etc -- even cheaper still. No immobilizer ECU problems until the very end of production. You can find them still at dealerships that are 4+ years old. Recently I saw a new DS1000 with the old-style bodywork / fairings wrapped around it -- pretty cool. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: IZ on September 30, 2008, 10:10:32 AM the JB Flat Red Supersport --> http://www.duccutters.com/JVB-Moto-FlatRed.tpl Oh yeah!! Thanks M! Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: DUCURTI on June 10, 2010, 12:08:57 PM That is my neighbors bike. I was just drooling over it about an hour ago.
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Travman on June 10, 2010, 04:14:36 PM This bike was for sale at DucPond for the past year or so. Did it sell or did the owner keep it?
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: DUCURTI on June 10, 2010, 04:54:08 PM After talking with his wife, it sounds like they decided to keep it. Lots of design collaberation/special ordering of parts and time when into building the bike and they decided that it's something that they should always have.
I knew that he had it at the Duc Pond for a while for some tuning but I didn't realize that it was for sale. Good thing for him because it may very well have ended up in my garage!! Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: ducatiz on June 10, 2010, 05:09:50 PM sorry the SS is one of my fav bikes. to see one chopped apart for that... yeah a sad end. You know this is a later model, post 98, right? I love Ducatis, but the 99-04 SS bikes were... well.. less than beautiful. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Howley on June 10, 2010, 09:30:35 PM Holy old thread batman!
Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: Travman on June 11, 2010, 02:31:55 AM Holy old thread batman! True, but the guy had some new info. He needed to let us all know that he had been drooling all over it. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: DUCURTI on June 18, 2010, 03:06:38 AM True, but the guy had some new info. He needed to let us all know that he had been drooling all over it. Sorry for digging up this old thread with my new info. I was just surprised to see my neighbors bike here and also surprised to read all the criticisms. I am positive that anyone of the folks who had bad things to say about this bike would change their tune if they were checking it out in person. Title: Re: Cool custom Ducati by Lazareth Post by: ducati monstervegas on November 27, 2012, 12:09:32 PM I found that Lazareth, bike on ebay. Its in vegas at the Palazzo Hotel.
