>:(Roaches, cant get rid of them. Any recommendation of products out there? Apprently dupont makes some killer insecticides for roaches, and well. dupont = the ferrari of chemicals. I found about 300 of small little babies crawling around the kitchen floor when i woke up this morning. Ive been using off the shelf items and none of them work. I need something with Death Star like power.

Gasoline and a match.
Sorry, that's all I can think of.
But I guarantee it would work.
hahah, ive already done that...well not with gasoline.
I have one of those butane soldering pens with an open flame. i light her up and just go at it. one quick pass is enough to kill anything.
Borax laundry soap.
Boric acid works pretty good, slow, but effective, and relatively safe for you and pets. It kills them slowly, so they track it back to the nest on their feet before they die. The results will take a few days, but it works. Ah, simulpost. The active ingredient in Borax Laundry Soap that kills roaches is boric acid.
I've also heard boric acid also works on fleas ~
JM
Boric acid is good for ants too.
Get it in all the cracks where the bugs come in.
If it's a case by case basis, I found the "Fantastic" brand surface cleaner works really well. When I was a kid in Hawaii (roaches aplenty), I used to come up with all sorts of ways to kill roaches. Airsoft guns were the most fun, but I found Fantastic worked well. Maybe it contains boric acid? After chasing and spraying a roach, it would be dead within a couple of minutes, and the floors were clean.
Don“t know how to kill them, all I know is the holiday condo we were in in Orlando was plagued with the buggers. One even came out to say goodbye the morning we left...
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... hate the things!!! [puke]
+1 to boric acid
Don't leave any attractants out like food or papers. They love paper especially in dank areas. Clean surfaces often.
Roaches breed 100+ litters, they can survive eating their own feces, keep in mind this will be a continuing process that doesn't stop over night.
If your in an NYC rental the landlord should be providing once a month exterminator service.
Contact your landlord and inform him about the issue.
If your neighbor is the problem seal up all holes and talk to your neighbor, inform your landlord. If that doesn't work contact DOH.
I deal with these things all the time and we provide exterminator service to all of our tenants monthly.
i used boric acid and pj for those sugar ants (that smell like oranges!) i live in a house in nyc, so no landlord.
I did not know they eat their own feces.....that...is quite disgusting. they eat what they poo, and poo is what they eat....
I bought the Advion gel and hopefully that will get rid of most of them. I read the MSDS on it, and its much less toxic than the bug spray and since its not aersol it wont spread like a bad case of herpes.
Work with them not against, train them properly and you can have an army.
Roaches will survive...
forever. ;)

Exactly, an unstoppable, immortal army that can survive on rations that it carries in it's own ass.

For true Death Star power I use a product called Viper. Usual box stores will probably not have it. I get it at one of the farm supply stores. I'm in a Red state so it's labelled for home use here. Your state may be different.
Bottom line though is this stuff WORKS.
I own a 130 yr old solid brick Victorian home. Cracks and crevices in the millions. Bought the house from a Dr's estate 16 years ago. He still had a full time housekeeper 2 years after going to his final reward. No occupant, no food, full time maid to clean every day, but still enough roaches to freak out my wife. Tried all of the readily available usual suspect remedies with little luck. Many would be killed but the next battle charge would be only days behind. Nothing worked.
Viper is a different story. Works ,and like the Duracell bunny, keeps on working. I spray about once every 3 years now. Just baseboards in kitchen and baths and arond the outside foundation. Not a simgle roach enters my house.
No, I don't sell the stuff and am not even sure who makes it. Just know it works.
Active ingredient in Viper is Cypermethrin
same stuff in DEMON WP that I was planning on getting.....now you spark an intrest...
They are ALL DEAD.
I bought the Dupont stuff. It kicked in about a week after i started applying it. during week 2 of application, there litterally dozens of roaches that just appeared on the floor dead. AWESOME!
But it yeilds a question.....
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

That's one of the funniest things I've read in quite some time. [clap]
Leetle tiny sneakers . . . [bow_down]
Glad your roach troubles are over.
In case anyone's interested in a non-toxic remedy (Small kids, etc.) I've used a product called Diatomaceous Earth with good results. It's a white powder that is non toxic to humans, but lethal to anything with an exoskeleton, and continues to work until it gets wet. A place called garden harvest supply sells a 5 lb bag of it for $11 on the net.
^^^^^^^^^^^ Forgot about DE. Any pool supply will sell it. Technically it's non toxic to everything. The roaches can't clean it off themselves because it is too fine. (they are very clean bugs btw) I think it clogs their pores or something.
Diatomaceous Earth is great for slugs too.
You should have gotten tiny live trap and released them into the wild.
;D
In college my roomates used to use darts. After awhile you get pretty good at hitting those things on the run.

Or another option upon trapping them live would be to fit them with harnesses. Once you get enough you'd be like the king of the neighborhood as you're pulled down the street on your bike.
Save on gas too with your gas/roach hybrid bike.
Put them on treadmills to generate electricity and sell it back to the electric company. I see a grown home based business.
WAIT! Roaches have their own money system? ??? AHHHH!!!!!

Hmmm...i think motivation would be a problem.
The ones that don't run get killed in front of the others for motivation. They you'll see some running.
if they come back, you should start a roach farm. sell them by the billion to science labs.
or you could get a bunch of these
