That would be the new K1300R. I've always found those bikes interesting. I like the innovative technology, but the styling just doesn't do it for me. It's kind of like a 2 wheeled science experiment. I find it intriguing, but wouldn't want it in my garage.
It may not be for everyone, but at least its not trying to be any other bike. I like it.
I actually dig that bike. It's on my 'when I'm rich and famous' list
Like it, because it`s different [thumbsup]
Yeah definitely on my would like to own list after a few thousand miles of test riding.
I'd rock it if i had the money its a very unique look. I like it a lot!
Its cool but they make me think of Bill the Cat.
Not sure about the R version but the K1300S is 175HP and 105 Ft. Lbs. even at 100Lbs. heavier than a Monster that thing would be fast (in a straight line at least).
That bike is Bad A$$. Bet it wont be long before we see one on the big screen in some kind of Sci-Fi flick [thumbsup]

I believe the K1300R and K1300S have the 175hp version of the engine. The sport-touring K1300GT is tuned for 160hp and a slightly different powerband. The R and S will be the first bikes offered (by any manufacturer) with a quick-shifter. ;D
I really like the K1300R...

the black version looks like something out of a mad max film.

Wasn't the 1200 in the last Resident Evil movie.
Well, I test rode a K1200 a year ago, and it was stupid fast.
Handled good too, considering the weight.
Not pleasing to my eye, and, yeah, Bill the Cat. :P
There was a BMW in it, but I thought it was the R1XXXGS model ~

I believe it was an R1200GS. Which would be my bike of choice for a post apocalypse.
Big gas tank, go anywhere ability w/ the proper tires... Yea, that'd be a good choice [thumbsup]

Is that an ugly stick he's holding? [roll]

That 100 Lbs. looks like is all in the exhaust. (reminds me of an aprillia exhaust)
Oh yeah I like that...I can't wait until it hits the market and everyone that owns a Rockster are trying to sell off their gear to buy this, then I can finally pick up the rockster that i've always wanted.
175 hp inline 4? with COMFORT and killer looks I think I found my next bike [drink]

The limited edition 2008 BMW HP2S already has one. Euro bike mags report it works quite well.

No kidding, I like the Rockster too! By the time I can afford ths K1300, it'll be in the "Not yet vintage, but nobody has use for it" category!

I didn't realize that this was available on the HP2S - I stand corrected.
The BMW press release quote:
"For the first time in the history of large-scale motorcycle production by BMW and, indeed, for the first time in series production worldwide, the rider of the K 1300 S is able to shift up with the help of the optional HP Gearshift Assistant without operating the clutch and, accordingly, without the slightest interruption of traction and pulling force. To perform this operation the ignition and fuel supply are interrupted for fractions of a second in the shift process."For awhile I was debating the installation of a DynoJet quick-shifter on my Monster. (it would plug right into the Power Commander) Maybe I should just upgrade to a K1300 instead... [laugh]
I rode a K1200R and it was the Bee's knees.
I rode over a road that is a ball buster on a sportbike. Rough road, pot holes, divets, uneven asphault,.. and the K just floated over it all, at speed!
She is amazing. She is also VERY technologically advanced. Hell, you can't even bleed the brakes on your own, due to the sensors. Her suspension is all adjustable at the push of a button. 9 settings.
and,.. she is expensive.
it has wierd front forks....

That is a Hossack/Fior (Duolever) suspension, like used on the Britten Motorcycle, much more direct than conventional fork suspension.

Very unusual, I like. Want to test ride one. I seem to be drawn to the bizzare and nonconformist things in life. [moto]
i put my 749 dark for sale because of this thread see for sale other bikes [beer]

I think this new take on the naked bike WAY better than the new Monsters. I won't be ditching my 'classic' monster for this one anytime soon, however.

new? the 1200cc version of this bike has been on the market for ~3 years.
Kinda dig it, but it reminds me of Bender from Futurama.

To big of a discussion for the internet, dive is one better, more rigid than forks is another. Better? Who knows? BMW isn't using it on the super bike they will be releasing soon. Cool new name ;D

Resident Evil 3
BMW K1200R
They made a special edition K1200R to promote the movie last year.

If you take off all the goofy RE3 garbage and replace that seat (what is that? velvet?), it's a bad a$$ machine. Not for everyone, but still bonkers nonetheless.
The new K1300S looks pretty sweet as well. The front end does look like an old-ish GSX-R though.
But the K1300R is cool, I like it. Very unique.

The quickshifter on my HP2 Sport was one of the coolest things on the bike. Holding the gas open and clicking up the gears is a really nice feeling.
I know 2 K1200R and 1 K1200S owners here in Madrid.. the 1200S has had it's share of warranty issues but remains an extremely rapid bike. The naked R models are just ridiculously rapid, the new 1300 is going to be hilarious I guess.
I'll just have to try one out!
Being the happy owner of a '07 BMW K1200S I must say the bike is a dream to ride.
Early on I thought that I could ride the S faster than my 1098 R.
I still like the ABS brakes better for the street and have never had an issue w, the handling . Smoothest transmission I've ever come across.
Granted it is a heavier bike than the 1098 R but it doesn't feel heavy to me accept now that I am a beter rider on the " R " I notice it and the lack of HP between the S and 1098 R.
W, the adjustable suspension setup from the switch on the left handlebar , the bike is very comfotable and responsive. Heated handgrips , a switch on the right handlebar.
W, a Remus Slipon , the S has a racous sound w, afterbursts between shifts and on decelaration.
It's no " R " but it is a whole lot of FUN.
Waiting for the Homolagation of the MotoGP - BMW .. do in showrooms in '09 .
ps. Never cared for the K1200R. Dolph

You mean World Superbike. ;) MotoGP bikes are prototypes...therefore no homologation requirements. Also, BMW doesn't participate in MotoGP and aren't planning to that I've heard.
