I'm counting Dark and Black together, because I can.

Its white because its the lightest color, then yellow, Dark & Black are the slowest of course.  [popcorn]

No Darks are the fastest because the light does not reflect off the paint, being faster than light and all.  No light no color. [thumbsup]
White is bright because of all the sunlight hitting the paint.  Lots of sloooow sunlight.

orange, beacause an orange is round and can roll down hills quite fast, colours are'nt fast at all (I just sounded like a stoner didn't I oops) 8)

less color = less weight

black is the fastest.

of the colors,
red has a wavelgnth of 700nm and violet has a wavelength of 400nm. longer wavelngth = less frequency. High frequency = faster. so violet is the fastest. But since ducati doesnt make a violet we will just go with the next fastest color, Blue. But Blue was only released in the 04 05 S4R, so those are the fastet monsters. EVER. period end of story.

Stoners red bike slows it down much more than all that white.

If Ducati went blue, Stoner would always win.

But look how fast dark is.  Every night I see dark, I quickly do a 180 and bam the dark is all ready behind me.

Dark is faster but I didn't want to split them up on the poll.

you forgot about SILVER! Like a bullet, then the BLACK stripe streamlines the speed. Thats basically how a warp drive works, look it up

He Man, I loved your post!!!!  I think the logic is spot on:)  I love how you narrowed it down to the 04 05 S4R-which I believe is one of the best looking monsters.....  So technically a Dark S4R or S4Rs-would be the fastest, even though not offered by Ducati, monster out there?!?!?!?

Well that settle's it for me, I am turning my S4 into a Dark and settle for 2nd or 3rd fastest  ;D ;D ;D

Primarily red with some white has been proven, without a shadow of a doubt, to be at LEAST 20 to 25 feet faster than any other color.

Flames are an indication of drag.  The more Drag the slower the bike.

Depending on the position of the sun, I would think white would make you the fastest. White reflects most of the suns rays, and with the sun behind you, in effect, your white paint is acting like a solar sail, pushing you along faster.

There is of course the down side of riding into the sun.

Now worries. I think 3 beers from now I will have this all sorted out.

So what we actually see as white reflects all colors and what we actually see as black absorbs all colors, making white the lightest color and black the heaviest.

What we see, and what is, are two different things young grass hoppa

What we don't see are the billion other colors out there that we cannot grasp because our eyes cant perceive them and never will. Even though a red light is reflected of a surface originally from white light, all the colors are still on the tank.

Since black is the absence of all color, color stays away from black, color = white light. so light never touches black. Aka color is actually racist. not white.

But only on the Monster 620............quack scientists all over the world, have also shown that there is a diminishing returns effect on any Ducati bigger than that...........

PW obviously its got the whole angel thing going on with it,angels dressed in white, angels have wings and they fly super fast ( i think ) so logicaly speaking blue i mean white is the fastest. Damn it i cant even pay attention to what i am saying.

Scientifically speaking however, everyone must agree that black is the fastest. The rubber that meets the pavement (almost) always beats the painted parts to the finish line, so it is a forgone conclusion that BLACK is always always the fastest!

Speed of light might be slightly faster, but again a BLACK hole will squash that too!!

Black is fastest.  In particular, gloss black.  The gloss is so slippery it reduces friction, hence making it the fastest.

I think it depends...on whether you have an air-cooled bike or not. Air-cooled it's definately silver and teal (Paul smart, Imola '72). Or maybe just silver (various older GP bikes). With the advent of water cooling, red seems to have gotten faster...I don't know why.

I voted matrix green but I actually think the Capirex is the fastest...

Clearly white. The reds were sold out where i bought mine and the black was just sitting there. But my white 696 FLIES down the road.

We have a thread like this every other month, and there is NEVER a choice for "black and red" ... which, it should be pointed out, is clearly the fastest color(s).   [evil]
