Is it probable that the 2009 monster line-up will consist of only the 696 and 1100(s)? The 1198 which is still speculation may not be available til 2010.
from what they are saying the 1198 wont be a monster but a new line.
so it will be only the 696 and 1100 and 1100s.
i keep hoping they will either bring down the price of the 1100 by about $1000-1500 or put a 900cc in between.
would love to be able to get another ducati that is under a liter other than the 848 when i'm ready to give the 696 to the wife.

You're getting things mixed up.
The current 1098 is getting a larger engine (the 1198).
The (hyper)fighter naked 4v is getting the 'old' 1098 engine and will be presented at EICMA next month.
Although the 1198 hasn't been officially presented, it's common knowledge by now that it will get released soon. Exactly when they will be in stores is still speculation.

sorry you are right. guess what i thought was being said was a 4v monster cause he did say "the 2009 monster line-up will consist of only the 696 and 1100(s)? The 1198 " and the title is "Re: 2009 monster line-up?"
I don't want to say "weak", but it's got no "wow factor" for sure.
