I'd like to set up a group buy with Ammoman.com. Have everything sent to my house and you come pick it up from me, at cost of course.
Ammoman.com has cheap prices, but much cheaper if you buy big numbers.
He has German 7.62 NATO, 5000 rds (5 cases) for $2500 shipped.
I think they come in 2 ammo can per case, so you can buy as little as 500 rds.
Anyone interested? If we can get a full pallet, I can go in for a case.
I am also interested in 5.56/.223 and 7.62 Russian. Mixed lots are no good for discount
A buddy might be in for some .223, I'll let you know.
What about pistol and shotgun ammo? I could go in on 9mm, and/or 12ga 3" buckshot or slugs.

whatever we can get a large order on -- I mean at least 5000 rds of rifle or 10,000 rds of pistol
look on the ammoman.com site to see what he has, but remember that it changes a lot.
the 7.62nato is all milsurp, which means limited quantities (but i think he has about 25 pallets = 10 cases each)
I'll have to look at that site tonight at home since I can't here at work...
S & B jacketed .45 acp is what I need most, but there are some other calibers I probably need also...so I'll have to look!
The idea is to get a huge purchase of a single caliber.
If enough ppl shoot .45, then i'll go in on that too.
I will go in on:
7.62 NATO * (not .308, I want the NATO spec stuff for the lower pressure.)
5.56 NATO (but .223 is ok same specs)
9mm (JHP, ball or JSP)
.45ACP (any)
7.5 Swiss (GP11) *
6.5 Carcano (any) *
.30-06 (LC would be nice but PMC or Korean milsurp is ok)
8mm (8x57JS)
7.62x54russian
7.62x39russian
any of those. items with a * are the most expensive usually. 7.62 nato has been going for 43-50 cents/ rd shipped, 7.5swiss for 50+, and 6.5 for 50+/rd.
is it easy to obtain a gun for range shooting? I am interested but am a total noob at stuff like this. Please enlighten.
I can't speak for all ranges but Blue Ridge Arsenal in Chantilly rents guns for the range. Or conversely, just buy a Glock or a Sig of some description and have fun! It's not like you can only have one gun or anything. [laugh] Stick with 9mm, .40 S&W or .45 ACP though.
I need some 5.56 or .223. I also need some high quality match grade .22LR.

.22 is about the only thing that volume doesn't bring discounts because it is so cheap in the first place
Dynamit, CCI, Nobel, Wolf, plenty of options.
The Wolf Gold 22 is pretty nice and cheap, esp for 22.
I may be in for some 5.56. I wouldn't want more than 1000 rounds, but probably less than that.
I'll know for sure in a week or two.
