Title: Jacket Zipper pull tab repair
Post by: ROBsS4R on October 13, 2008, 05:00:37 PM

The Zipper pull Tab has broken on my Dainese Jacket.

The sleeve zipper pull tab broke month ago but today the main zipper broke.

I am going to repair it redneck style with a Paperclip. Anyone repairs these in the bay area... Same day would  be good since I only have one jacket and I ride every day.

I saw the title, and wondered if you had Dainese.  [roll]

I've got a couple of the tabs on my jacket and the fly tab on my pants 'repaired' redneck-style.  [laugh]
The tabs flapping around in the wind wear thin, then break.

Curious to see how it goes on getting 'em fixed.

I love my Dainese Helmet however I have had some quality issues with my gloves and Jacket.

It's to bad because the dainese gear fits me to well. They really know how to design gear that fits well. I have not given up on them but I am a bit disappointed unless this is a common issue with all leather jackets  ???

My jacket and pants are Dainese, just for the record.

My ancient Bates jacket lost two pocket zipper tabs, but I bought it over 20 years ago, and it took a *lot* more miles for them to fail than the Dainese.

I have about 25k miles on this jacket, about 1.5 years old but the sleeve zipper tab broke with in a few months of the purchase. I didn't really care about that since I never touch that zipper but the main one is hard to deal with  :-\

Bring 'em in to the D store. They can put you in touch with repair people.

Strike that...BikerGoddess says the D Store can repair them right there on the spot. They have lots of pull tabs. Just bring it in Tue-Sun.

Most of my zippers have fancy zip ties on them.

Heheh, love all of the "solutions" so far. I am currently using an internally opening clip-lock style latch from one of my servers pulls tabs!!  [thumbsup]  [bacon]

+1 on the key ring. I have one on a back pack, and the zipper Tab that was on my Vanson had a leather Tab affixed with a key ring. I use it for a Key ring.
