Title: Ride Sunday 10/19
Post by: Henecton on October 14, 2008, 01:50:39 PM
If anyone is interested I am planning on riding from Strasburg to Harrisonburg on 10/19 taking back roads. We would meet at 10:00 AM at the Strasburg Emporium (good coffee) and leave at 10:30 AM, stop for lunch in Harrisonburg and then head back towards Strasburg. If interested please post up or PM me.

I'm in.  And I won't be wearing anything perforated.  It's time to switch to my Fall wardrobe.  ;D

Yes I think it is the end of the season for perforated and mesh gear  [laugh]. It'll be cool Sunday but it should still be a nice ride through the valley.

Staying close, running out to Faquier Livestock Exchange Sunday AM for breakfast, drooling over all the fine old Ducs, MG, etc.. that show up, Sorry I cannot join you - Gene

A short ride report from today. Jeff and I headed out of Strasburg at about 10:30 AM, the ride to Strasburg was pretty cold, actually it was in the low 30's when I left the house and at 10:00 AM in Strasburg the bank clock listed the temp as only 45 degrees. We made good time through the valley towards Harrisonburg until we got behind the largest group of Honda Gold Wings I had ever seen. After a few strategic passes (probably not appreciated but safe and in legal passing zones) we were through the group and able to continue south at a brisker pace than the Gold Wings were setting. We had lunch at Ciro's Lasagna house in Harrisonburg and headed back north over some more great roads ending the ride in Woodstock, VA.
