Title: Don't loan out your Desmosidici Post by: J_Slyter on October 14, 2008, 03:16:20 PM Well, since no one else has posted this already I figure I'd share these sad pic's from Advrider.
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=395175 (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=395175) Moral of the story is: Only loan your sidici to J_Slyter or this might happen. ;D Title: Re: Don't loan out your Desmosidici Post by: Smitch on October 14, 2008, 03:30:36 PM Well lets see here, I just so happen to have access to prices for replacement parts! Just replacing what I can see is damaged will be...dang the parts computers are all clogged up at the moment. But I'll betcha $8K at least just for the body parts. I'll look it up later.
Parts for that bike are hella expensive. I know for a fact that just the rear wheel, with rotor and sprocket is $10K. Title: Re: Don't loan out your Desmosidici Post by: Smitch on October 14, 2008, 03:51:48 PM Oh wait, just noticed the swingarm! Ohhh...access to the parts computer:
Swingarm: $6400.00 Windscreen: $244.00 Front Cowling: $2665.22 Front Fender: $1047.00 Right footpeg: $124.00 Tail section: $7000.00 Ceramic exhaust cap for tail section: $1400.00 Grand Total, and this is just the big parts, I'm sure there's others: $18,880.22. Title: Re: Don't loan out your Desmosidici Post by: Scottish on October 14, 2008, 05:12:07 PM Yeah but if you loaned it to Slyter you'd pay at least that much in normal milage maintence and milage depreciation. [cheeky] At least he got to enjoy it as it was meant to be instead of using it as a touring bike. [laugh]
