Just completed another round of mods.  Installed a SpeedyMoto top triple, seat cowl, clear alternatives integrated tail light, shock sock, and cored my cans.  My question is this, what are my options for swingarm spools?  My bike has spent a decent amount of time with my Pitbull stand under it so I was thinking, spools would be easier than the flats for the next round of mods.  Is there such a thing as spools that bolt on through the axle, like a slider would?  Thanks

what bike do you have?

Cos ones with aluminium swing arms have lugs for stand fittings built in to them.

Its an 08 695.  No threaded holes in the swingarm >:(

I've never seen ones that go through the axle, but you could drill the swingarm and use the press-in bungs, or just bolt the spool on the inside (suggested to me by PitBull).  I had some bungs welded onto my swingarm, which is probably the sturdiest way to do it, but it's a lot of effort (picture below).

No matter which method you use, make sure you carefully locate them so your stand doesn't interfere with the exhaust or rear axle.  Also, if you have low mount cans, make sure they won't hit the spools when the suspension is compressed.

Welding on the bungs seems like the best option.  Where did you find a "bung"?  I really like how you have yours set up.

the ONLY thing about that type is you can't remove the rear wheel. but it's cool they have dual use. they should have drilled and tapped holes for spools on the 696.

btw you need to get the bar end sliders to complete the set.

;D Currently my toy allowance wouldn't allow me to get any bar end sliders. Besides I'm saving my allowance for better mods. [evil]

Raux is right, you can't remove the rear wheel with this type of spools/sliders.
As you can see I have a Pit Bull forward handle rear stand with interchangeable plates. I can remove the spool plates and install the standard plates for any wheel removal work.

So if you are planning to do a lot of mods that requires you to remove the rear wheel often then I would suggest getting a set of spools installed the good ol way. Spools are much more stable and secure than flats and easier to lift as well.

I went this route because I don't plan to do a lot of wheel removal and I make it a habit of putting her up on the rear stand every night. It's just nice to see her perk up from behind as I open up the garage door in the morning. [bacon]

I got mine from PitBull, but it wouldn't be hard to make them either.

Do these fit the 695 perfectly like they do the 696?  They only have these listed for the 696

I was thinking the same thing, will probably try to call them on Monday.
