Its all about balance.

She's got it all (looks, talent, personality and dirty hands) ... and I've got nothing (short, fat, ugly and balding; no talent and NO personality) ... but I've got clean hands.

Cant see the nitrous bottle or its fittings ??  ;D

We were talking about that yesterday  ;D

Mentioned it to Master Lambretta Mechanic (Jukie's bruva) and he started talking about some hydraulic(?) gear selector. I think we will have to settle for the super-sized carb and exhaust for now  :)

Some serious progress has been made over the last few days, hopefully it won't be too long now (still waiting on some parts though) ... the idiosyncrasies and consistency [roll] of mid-60s Italian manufacture have been chewing up a lot of time

That's great she looks tops baby.  [thumbsup]
Love the little Fiat 500 in the garage too, why do you have a VW Jetta though, shouldn't be an Alfa 156/159.

thanks for noticing my babe (fiat) and the Jetta. Why the Jetta, main reason boot space for the scubadiving equiptment when we go on diving trips

Betty stalls an auto.... priceless!

While its "not a ducati" it certainly is loud enough though the blue smoke is a bit of a turnoff.

Jukie she's a lovely addition to your collection. [bacon]

Auto!  Its not an auto!

She was struggling to get under way with my fat arse onboard though. And as Julie's brother pointed out 'its not a Ducati, its not a tractor' ... or as I am used to hearing from the Boss 'you've gotta give it some revs'.

Good space for several bodies, was going to buy a Jetta but went for the Golf instead.

well i haven't found any dead bodies yet. A good choice with the golf. Plus the Jetta is a Turbo model of course with a sequential box.

so Jukie, I thought the Lammie was a way cool addition to the collection, but then you go and post a picture of the garage with the Bambino in it! One of my favourite cars....

I remember when I was 10 and visiting the relos in Italy when a 500 driving down the road burst into flames! Was one of the most awesome sights I'd seen as a kid....mother(driver) and daughter, bolted out of that car at a million miles an hour...I was amazed that this little car in the middle of the street was going up in flames and still moving...  :o

hope yours fairs better !  [thumbsup]

way, way cool collection going on in your garage !

yes my little baby bambino, i have had her for over 10 years now as still goes like a champ. i usually drive her to sydney when i can on the express way (F3), she get a few smiles, and she also has to deal with the truckies  but they are normal good to her.  yes she is a rebuilt to of course, new paint  nternally and externally as you can imagine and, new front panel and a bit of cleaning, spare tyre and all good. She cost me about $800 to buy not registered and other $100 to get towed to home and off she goes.  She is my little baby. [thumbsup]

Thanks Dad and Bro for the help in getting parts and the many of hours working on her for me.

Thanks to Mark for letting me do this, and for letting me have bits and pieces of lillie in the studyroom, familyroom, garage. etc.

It have been a very good learn curve for me, and will make me  be able to sort out problems it need on my own.

Thanks AGAIN. [thumbsup] [moto] :D

Allllrighty then.

Scoot arrived back home on Thursday, plate on, etc, etc.

.... and I just got back from its first run on the road ....  8) [moto]

Only did about 10km just on dusk and it was quite fun - though as you would expect a bit different. Didn't have any trouble pulling my fat bum up the hills (and I am talking decent hills), certainly pulls better than the Bambino on the same hilly bits.

Alby (Jukie's Bro) suggested when we were procuring bits that the trick exhaust might limit low down torque, but when she is up to speed  ;D. Can't say it felt that different to any other scoot I had ridden off the line (but it has been a while) .... however once she was moving and up in the rev range, she didn't really want to slow down  ;D
.... even caught the traffic going up the hill  [evil]

Comparisons to the Monsters (in stock form at least) that some of you might recognise:
. vibrations make the mirror absolutely useless
. seat is far from comfy ... very firm ... and did I mention the vibrations (should be good to keep the cellulite in check :-X)
. very soft in the front end ... a couple of springs off a pogo stick and a 10 inch wheel is a great combo ... oh yeah and your hands aren't spared from the vibrations

Overall its a pretty cool package  [thumbsup] thanks and well done to Jukie's Dad  [clap], Alby  [bow_down] and of course Julie  :-*

[beer] to a smooth running and trouble free future

I like the shopping rack on the front of his.

Front & back racks on Al's scoot. The front apparently is very important for the Vespa as the front end is VERY light with the engine all the way at the back - the rack helps to keep the front wheel on the ground under ... um ... power.

and here he is, my older bro following behind to keep a check on me.

... and also to let everbody else now who was grinding hard bits on her first trip out  [evil] [roll]

Title: Re: Lillie the Lammie progress pics

so it's like a 911 then. Engine out back driver/rider in the middle and no weight out front.

Jukie aren't you a little overdressed for a scooter.  I would have thought short skirt, shoestring tank top and thongs were the approriate apparel for the ride.  (Yes I am joking).
