Title: Is this a fuel line? Post by: yellowjacket on May 10, 2008, 10:52:23 AM I looked under my bike and noticed this tube hang-out, is this normal? or is it suppose to be attached to something?

Post by: Slide Panda on May 10, 2008, 11:26:51 AM Dunno if there's supposed to be a photo - But it's probably not your fuel line. IF it was your bike would be dumping a lot of gas any time the fuel pump was active. It's probably the tank breather hose or the battery overflow hose. Both will be snaking down from under the tank, down past the lowest point of the bike and will be left open at the end.

Title: Re: Is this a fuel line? Post by: Rameses on May 13, 2008, 08:03:51 AM How big is the line?
Fuel lines are roughly 5/8" O.D. while the vent lines are maybe 1/4" iirc. Maybe somebody else can confirm this? But like yuu said, if it's a fuel line, when you turn the bike on you'll know it. Post by: c_rex on May 13, 2008, 12:29:05 PM Does the bike run without fuel spilling all over the place? if so I think you're good to go. [thumbsup]
Title: Re: Is this a fuel line? Post by: yellowjacket on May 13, 2008, 04:21:05 PM yeah, its definitely not the fuel line...

open your fuel cap and blow up through the line , air should come out the drain and vent if t'd together. if the vent line becomes pinched the tank can implode if the drain becomes plugged water can get in you fuel tank. cheers |
