So are the power commanders for the 620, 800 and 1000 all the same? I know they have different part numbers, and one can load whatever map they want, but physically, connectors, wire lengths, etc. is that all the same? thanks!!

Basically. The 4vs have a different wire harness. That harness can be made to work on a 2V. It looks like it plugs right in, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. The 2Vpciii has a wire tap for the tps. For the 4V it has a plug.

The differences in each 2V model is positioning. One may be deisnged to be placed at location x or y, and thus will result in a different length of wire

Ok, I'm primarily talking the 2v, 02-04 620i.e., 800i.e. and 1000i.e. (no 2r versions.) Of those, the connectors should be the same, just a possibility of different wire length based on control unit location? thanks.

The 2v 620/750/800/900 will all work the same as they're all based on the same small block 2 plug design which uses a 5.9 ECU.
I don't know about the 1000, so I'd just go with the above.

Regardless you will need a custom map and will NOT be able to load a map from another engine size bike into a different engine size PC3. <-- Hence the custom map. If you choose do to this, just leave a zero map in it until you have someone with the ability to make you a proper map.

What I've stated is not hypothetical or untested. For the record, I have done this and used a 2v 800 PC3 and installed it into a 2v 620 and then swapped in a 900 engine and used the same PC3.

That is strange, when i was toying around with a PCIII i had (for 05 S4R) i could load 2v maps on it....
