Title: Hey Ladies
Post by: Miss Ducati on November 01, 2008, 12:38:31 AM
Hello.  Introduced myself in the general forum and thought I would intro here as well.
My name is Kathy and I have been riding now for 13 years.  My first bikes were a Suzuki Across and then a GSXR 600.  Recently my partner and I have taken interest in touring more and hitting the mountains around Oz.  The gixxer just is not comfortable enough and to be honest for my body weight and the weight of the bike, I think I have gone as far as I can with my riding on this style of bike.  So my partner and I went to test ride a Monster 696.
Now I have never really been one for the non-faied upright bikes.  None really had the apeal for me.  That was until I saw the Ducati 696.  The bike has a remarkable finish and style and I just had to take it for a test ride.
Now I can say I am a proud owner of a Ducati 696 Monster and there is no going back.  I feel I have finally found religion! [bow_down]

Anyhoo.................nice to be here and can't wait to chat more with the forum members. [thumbsup]

Welcome Miss Ducati!  Another 696 owner!   What a great bike!
Have fun with it and be safe!   You're riding season is just getting
started so post up on some of your rides so we can read them
during the dark, cold, snowy winter here in the states!    ;D

You bet it's just getting started.  Lucky we have no snow here even in our winter.  So I do get out during winter as well.  But the cold does suck hard.

My first big ride will be 800km down south to meet up with members from my own forum here in Oz.  There are great roads to be explored all over this country and great mountains as well.

For sure I will add pics and a ride report for all you gals sittin' at your pc's, dreaming of riding! [thumbsup]

Welcome, and your opinion of most naked bikes comes from the design mentality.  Unlike other naked sportbikes (FZ, SV, etc), the Monster was designed as a naked bike.  Ok, so the SV has always had the base model as the naked one, but its predecessor, the TL was faired, and the SV inherited much of its design from the TL.  The tank was designed never to have a fairing to make it complete.  The motor is so simple and clean without all the plumbing of liquid cooled bikes (not to put down the S4*'s).  They are truly beautiful machines.
