Title: Portimao WSBK/WSS (spoilers...)
Post by: gm2 on November 01, 2008, 02:39:15 PM
so apparently they got the track done in time to actually have the race.. and in time for Bayliss for win his final superpole

guess that early move for Rea wasn't such a bad idea, either.

I really liked that circuit. Lots of lines available, and some undulating elevation changes make it better than a lot of the new tracks that have been built recently.

I agree. Nice looking track. Entertaining racing.
Good to see Baylis "KICK ASS" in his final races.  [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup].
make the beast with two backs, cant believe Fabrizio taking out  Biaggi again. Poor Rueben, the man gives her 100%. Balls to the walls style.

That's really got to put a crimp in his golf game ;)

In other news, it's funny that Ducati use a regular steering head nut on their race bikes but stick us poor saps with that ridiculous thing that needs a special tool to remove!! >:(

yeah, but i've never actually had to remove that nut.

Do those number mean what I think they mean? 31 degs of rake? I cant imagine riding something that steep.

it's not rake, it's offset. iirc, 31 offset would be ~25° of rake.

you sure it isn't torque spec to adjust for a certain degree of looseness in the front end for steering/turning?...

not certain...

but I seriously doubt that steering head bearings are left loose on that bike.

Well those numbers are certainly in the right range. Factory spec is 30nm. (I thinks it's rake adjustment too)

it does affect rake, but the numbers are the offset on the triple clamp.

I have to admit I shed a tear as Troy said goodbye in the race 2 post interview.  What an incredible person!
