Makes my butt clench just looking at it..... :-X apparently he hasn't ridden on the street for 20 years...reckon he'd either lose the license or die....and says it's too dangerous! anyone know just how 'stock' or 'un-stock' these bikes are? I mean pro cyclists used to ride 'stock' bikes - except every single part was ultra-light, ti bolts, shaved tires, different alloys for parts (with stock stickers) etc... exactly what's different with the SBK bikes and a 1098r? Not much from what i have been reading, they blue print the motor and change the pistons and crank .how tru this is who knows [thumbsup] concider the stock 1098 r has 189 hp with the Terni's and ecu fitted and the F08 has 200hp not much of a difference in power,I guess they also tweek the suspension. I remember reading at the start of the year how the team was so happy with 1098R vs the 999r because there was so little done to the bikes from factory they did not have to cover things up when the body panels come off. Because so much of the 999r was modified to make it competitive the team had to try and work on the bike behind covers and screens to try and stop the other teams from seeing what had been done. If I remember correctly they concentrated on making the top end of the bike very efficient to try and extract as much horsepower from the small throttle bodies, porting and polishing the heads, 2 ring pistons instead of 3, new cams and the like.
