Title: 696 Belly pan? Post by: Miss Ducati on November 02, 2008, 03:01:14 AM Ok so I have just got the bike and I would like to add a belly pan on her. I have seen the one from Barracuda Moto (http://www.barracudamoto.it/DettaglioProdotto.aspx?IDP=1114&CAT=62 (http://www.barracudamoto.it/DettaglioProdotto.aspx?IDP=1114&CAT=62)) and have heard some good and bad reports on it (ie: heat from pipes may melt it????). Does anyone here have a suitable site that I can look at or have they found and are using a belly pan on their 696 already? Cheers! [thumbsup]
Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: NekkedChic on November 02, 2008, 06:34:35 AM +1 on looking for belly pan ASAP too here. BUT, holding out for Irfan/WildHair Accessories for one to TRUST. Contact him, he will put you on some "list" and let you know when one is available. Not sure one you post is same, but there is ONE out there, unfortunately only carbon fiber and not what I want on my bike....COULD paint, but that's like carpeting a nice wood floor, IMHO lol
Keep us posted on what you find tho too? Tks Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: Holden on November 02, 2008, 05:42:49 PM Carpeting a nice wooden floor was a good analogy. Why would one buy a naked Ducati only to spend more money covering up its nakedness/Ducatiness with plastic bits? ???
If mine had come with one of those, getting rid of it would have been my first or second mod (along with losing the bikini top). Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: sfarchie on November 02, 2008, 06:29:48 PM www.motowheels.com (http://www.motowheels.com) may have one if you're interested. I changed my mind.
Quote from: sfarchie on October 30, 2008, 11:32:26 PM Were you ever able to get this? http://www.barracudamoto.it/DettaglioProdotto.aspx?IDP=1114&CAT=62 (http://www.barracudamoto.it/DettaglioProdotto.aspx?IDP=1114&CAT=62) Yes, We ordered a few samples to check out the quality and fit. if you are interested, please email Glenn so he knows to contact you when it comes in --or so he can get an invoice written for you. We may be gettig only one of those. -M Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: Miss Ducati on November 03, 2008, 11:37:21 PM Carpeting a nice wooden floor was a good analogy. If mine had come with one of those, getting rid of it would have been my first or second mod (along with losing the bikini top). The look of the bike was second to it's performance. That's why I buy a bike and that's why I bought the Ducati 696! I would carpet a wooden floor as well if it didn't seem practical. ;D Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: dutchy73 on November 06, 2008, 04:13:59 PM It's nice to see more accessories being made for this bike. However, I think that the search for the right belly pan will continue for me personally. The Magical Racing one still seems a bit out of place. I wish someone would come up with a pan that was integrated into bike a bit more.
I always seemed to like this one someone posted a while back. It's a little more in the direction I am looking for, as it's more of a fairing/belly pan type look. But in this case, too much fairing, not enough belly pan. As I type this, I feel like I might be asking for the impossible. Ya... I personally like the lean no belly pan look... but the one that follows the lines of the bike up, and integrate into the style look a lot better Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: pjfa on November 17, 2008, 03:57:37 PM [thumbsup] Minimal ;D

Post by: dutchy73 on November 17, 2008, 05:34:20 PM Ok, so now I am a bit torn again. But still not sure if this is the move either. But generally, it's making me think "what if"? Although, this one is still not doing it for me. The search continues...
...or, I should just be happy with having a "naked" bike and not put more plastic on, but take more off. Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? That's kind of what I am thinking now. Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: StandTall on November 18, 2008, 06:34:00 AM I think it would definitely be a waste to put more on the 696 to cover it up. Hell, if I spent as much on mods as some people do for this bike I would've gotten a 1098 instead of the monster!
Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: Raux on November 20, 2008, 11:58:23 PM I wish the Barracuda one was available in colors. I wouldn't mind that one if it were white. Would be a lot like the new SF look.
Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: NekkedChic on December 27, 2008, 08:03:54 AM I DO prefer the NAKED, but having issues looking at the pipe stuck down there. THINKING about ceramic coating pipe instead of belly pan. But LUV a belly pan, just not so BIG and want one that does cover more of the pipe IMHO.
Wish the Barracuda one was CHEAPER ALSO lol Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? but i'm kinda with wark on this. i dont understand why you'd put more farrings on a naked bike... It's nice to see more accessories being made for this bike. Post by: Raux on February 25, 2009, 01:11:09 AM thanks for the find Raux. nice find, but i cant seem to find out how to get my hands on those fairings :-\ i bet if you email the blog list and ask them for stefano's contact they would help. it would take some time, but it's possible. as far the the handlebar clamp. it looks like he's using it as some kind of mount? maybe for a GPS for something. Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: MOUSEMAN on February 25, 2009, 04:47:24 PM Maybe I will look at making a belly pan also. What would you want if you could design one from scratch? Long and low, high like Stefanos, (I kinda like that one), barely there, more coverage? . All ideas will be considered, most popular wins.

I like that pan in specific because it has a streetfighter look to it. The minimalistic one below is decent too... (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6427/p1rz9.jpg) Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Here's a pic of the Barracuda on OstOgBajer's bike (from this thread: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=19025.0) (http://www.thetechlounge.com/random/brian/monster/6.jpg) Title: Re: 696 Belly pan? Post by: Raux on February 26, 2009, 01:14:55 PM reviewing the pic of the barracuda on the white 696 it seems big. i mean like it should be 3/4 scaled to fit the bike better. and of course white also.
maybe that's the key. make a 3/4 size barracuda type in the colors available. red, white, dark, black and silver. Title: Re: 696 Belly pan?
