Title: More showing off caught on film
Post by: DrNo08 on November 02, 2008, 09:15:57 PM
This guy is lucky.  Maybe if he'd have went off the ledge as opposed to hitting the rail there would be one less showoff on the road.  If you're stupid enough to pass a car on the outside of a curve like this you deserve to wreck.

Wow! He is a candidate for dumbass of the year!

1) Why in the WORLD would he pass on the outside? Every mountain road has gravel on the outside, even in the summer.
2) Why in the WORLD would he pass on the outside when it is completely obvious the lean won't give him room between the car and the guard rail?

It's obvious this is a fairly new rider that had a 'what the heck, let's go for it' attitude in that turn.

Natural selection is a good thing! He won't be riding much longer.

And this is what happens when someone rides over their heads and endangers another rider or cager:

it is one thing to be wreckless and hurt yourself... it is another when you hurt others... that video makes me hate that rider.

I agree. Both of those video's show a rider putting innocent people in danger.
I certainly take calculated chances while riding. But part of the 'calculated' chance is to take others safety into consideration. I've often backed off of a corner when I see a situation developing that could hurt another. But if the coast is clear, game on.
I suspect it's not only about consideration for others, but experience and knowing how to quickly recognize those situations as they develop.

I feel no pity for the guy, we get at least 15 guys per trackday that are this sort of a show off on the roads but end of the day know jack shit about riding correctly, reading the road etc.

What this guy did is just asking for trouble.

The second video is a famous one from my home country, Hungary. It happened in the mountains close to where I used to live as a kid. The guy on the OTHER bike died instantly, this asshole survived, but was in a coma for a while, then got a couple years in prison. The usual story: put a powerful bike under a troglodyte and watch what happens.

That first video. i dont want to comment much other than that guy is a make the beast with two backsing moron who should learn how to ride a bike first. The 2nd video is just... well after what hunduc said i dont even know what kind of words id wanna say. its just a mess of frustration and anger on the part of the deceased family.
